ghost of miles Posted October 31 Report Posted October 31 I’ve never heard this one before, so now’s the time for me, apparently. Has anybody ever written up a good overview of her post-RCA discography? A Single Woman (expanded) out Nov 7 Quote
JSngry Posted October 31 Report Posted October 31 I love Nina (but she never knew) but .. I'm not sure but that her voice was particularly strong on this late record. YMMV It's on Spotify, you can decide for yourself Quote
mikeweil Posted October 31 Report Posted October 31 I must admit I was disappointed, if not unexpectedly, that her voice had aged to such an extent. You can hear what she wanted but could not get anymore ...... Quote
king ubu Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 I love her cover of "Sign o' the Times", closing the bonus tracks portion of the previous CD version. Quote

mikeweil Posted November 1 Report Posted November 1 Different arrangers cooparated on each track - Jeremy Lubbock, John Clayton, Richard Evans, and Nina herself. I only have the basic album, so I can't help you with this track. discogs doesn't state arrangers for the bonus tracks. Quote
king ubu Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago Apologies for being so slow @JSngry - I've just checked my CD (the "Elektra Masters" digipack from 1933) and there are no arranging credits for the bonus tracks whatsoever. And while some of the bonus tracks are mentioned in the new liner notes, there's no real info there, either. For the main album it's Lubbock on #1 & 4, Clayton on #2, 7 and 9, Evans on #3 & 5, and Simone on #6, 8 & 10. Quote
