Very good album (Joe Bonner is a big plus) which AFAIK never received CD reissue.  I'll go for the download in the absence of a CD reissue.

I didn’t know The Visitors had a third album. I’ve heard "In My Youth" because it was released on CD, and I think "Rebirth" hasn’t been released on CD, but I’ve heard it too, and it’s one of my favorites. I’d really like to give it a listen.  I think they were very talented composers.

They actually had four albums.  Their first, 'Neptune', came out on Cobblestone, then 'In My Youth', 'Rebirth', and 'Motherland' followed on Muse after Cobblestone reverted to Muse.  I agree that 'Rebirth' is the pick, but all are good albums, and only 'In My Youth' saw CD issue.  These albums would have made a nice Mosaic Select back in the day.

I suggested this and a Carlos Garnett Select to Michael Cuscuna and if I recall correctly, he said they wouldn't sell.

And he was right, but I would have bought them.

Those would sell now, but at the time, post-Coltrane modal jazz wasn't really moving units like it currently does. I also remember a time when those records were cheap and nobody cared...
