Asking, because — and I could easily be misremembering — but I thought(?) the Conns and US RVG’s were entirely exclusive of each other (meaning a Venn diagram of Conns, and RVG’s… would result in no overlap).

Were any Conns ever re-issued as US Conns?

Both Baby Face Willette albums

Horace Silver - Further Explorations

Lee Morgan - Leeway

Grant Green - Green Street

A couple of Ike Quebec albums

Probably several others as well

And I rarely if ever replace U.S. BN's with Japanese BN's of the same title, but did replace McMasters, Conns, and older Japanese imports with U.S. RVG's eventually in all cases.

I did the same. It was nice to RVG the first round of Connoisseurs (Components and Empty Foxhole excluded) but I kept a few Conns over RVG treatment, e.g. McLean's Destination Out! (sounded good to me).

My fav series was the BN 10"s doubles plus a shout out for Elmo Hope's Trio & Quintet sessions (BN & PJ)

Overall the complete series had a profound impact on my listening thanks to Michael C

I'm too, a fan of the BN 10'' Connies series and just added the Foster/Wallington set (thank you, John!) to that amazing batch; only missing the Gil Melle 2CD set, but I have a TOCJ copy of Patterns in Jazz, so I feel I have them all. 😁

$14.00  or so? Wow, that's not a bad price at all. Wasn't this set going for insane prices a year or two ago?

I agree with you, never saw the set in person and never had a chance at it.
