  1. ...and I am the Ghost of Stalin! And now back to my Saturday afternoon musical pleasures.
  2. Thank you, yes!!! The last time we attempted such an invasion things did not go so well.
  3. What is the best highway route into Oklahoma City for a parade of T-34s???
  4. Hmm. So the general populace is not yet ready to overthrow their capitalist overlords and establish the collectivized farming system of which I have long dreamed??? In that case, why do they call themselves "Sooners"??? It seems to me they should be called "Laters"!!! But yes, there is much surprising radical history to be found in many unexpected pockets of these United States!!! In the meantime, back to "The Price Is Right."
  5. Dear, dear comrades!!! I have not been back to the state since then. What are our chances of fomenting a similar uprising and establishing a soviet Oklahoma today???
  6. Gaillard fans might want to check this Zev Feldman project as well: The Lost Singles Of McVouty 1958-74 ... also discussed in a previous Organissimo thread: Searching For You: The Lost Singles of McVouty
  7. I also picked up the Stash Fats Waller on Larry’s recommendation and second Brad’s comments.
  8. Maybe the “Gerald Wilson: Last Of The Lions” thread? I was going to up that one for his centennial this Tuesday. Thanks so much for all of your work on this, Jim.
  9. It’s utterly baffling and appears to have happened yesterday. I’ve had some contact about it with Jim A (who speculated that the board may have been hacked) and Magnificent Goldberg, who couldn’t ascertain the source of the issue upon first examination. I’ve also contacted Jsngry and Larry about it.
  10. One from the Night Lights archives in memory of Mr. Weston: The Randy Weston Songbook
  11. Hello! Wondering on behalf of Ghost of Miles what happened to all of the Night Lights topics, which seem to have vanished from the jazz radio forum.
  12. I am to understand they are in need of women???
  13. 'Twas a joke, a Jsngry jest, a tweak, methinks, on the inevitable and perfunctory "THE JAZZ/CLASSICAL AUDIENCE IS AGING!!!" articles that appear like clockwork every year. I, of course, define "classic rock" as "Back In The USSR" exclusively.
  14. The free market fails again!!! In my former People's Republic of Jazzovia comrades would have been required by law to purchase these titles!!! Obviously there is a conspiracy amongst large corporate entities to keep the proletariat in the dark regarding these fine issues. And now back to my mid-mid-early-evening Stolichnaya.
  15. My fiance and I are currently planning financial estate matters for ourselves and her three children--writing wills, setting up beneficiaries, all that fun stuff. Like many other Organissimo members, I've amassed a rather large jazz collection over the years (almost all CDs, in my case) that includes numerous Mosaic box-sets, out-of-print items, imports, and other recordings that should add up to a lot of potential resale value. If something were to happen to me, what would be the best method for my fiance to maximize said value of the collection for herself and her three children? Has anybody else thought about this issue or created some sort of plan of action for their spouse/partner?
  16. All the best, comrade!!! You are truly a strong, wise, and good soul.
  17. Comrade Fasstrack, your tires are spinning!!!
  18. An old track that's currently "getting" to me and "speaks" to me right now!!! Belle and Sebastian "I Don't Love Anyone" (live)
  19. Very sad news. She clearly had talent and a spark of soul, and it's easy when you're an addict to think you'll lose that if you give up drugs forever. (Just one of the myriad ways in which your addict mind can feed you all kinds of jive to sustain your disease.) Sadly, you lose it all in one way or another anyway if you can't get off or stay off the train to oblivion.
