  1. There is so much talk about Blue Note albums on this forum, yet ECM albums barely ever mentioned. Yet there is so much quality & variety in ECM catalog that everyone familiar with it sure has its favorites. Lets make your recommendations for those who have yet to discover the gems of Manfred Eicher creation. Here is my current top 10 list in no particular order: Ralph Towner- Solstice Jan Garbarek- Afric Pepperbird AEC- Urban Bushmen Keith Jarrett- Solo Concerts Jarrett-Peacock-DeJonette- Whisper Not Eleni Karaindrou- Music For Films Benni Maupin- The Jewel in The Lotus Kenny Wheeler- Music for large and small ensembles Steve Reich- Music for 18 musicians Paul Motian- Dance And ah, those famous ECM sleeves- Sleeves of Desire. 2. Who is with Sonny Rollins?

Could it be John Lennon? The nose is very much his, glasses too.
  3. Branford slams Miles

The last I checked, the classic Coltrane Quartet albums were still in print and readily available.
  4. I moved here few months ago and looking for familiar sights & sounds. Any suggestions of clubs, jazz events, record/CD stores in the area (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill)? Thanks.
  5. Brandenburg Concerti

    I like Hermann Scherchen Brandenburgs.
  6. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooool

Alas, Joseph de Maistre's "Every nation gets the government it deserves" rings true for both countries.

I wish Croats all the best, but it might as well be a high point that would take them a while (if ever) to surpass. Remember that they weren't even the top in their qualification group (Iceland was). The keeper seemed like he wasn't feeling well, maybe his injury in 1/4 final with Russia finally got to him. If so, it was a big gamble for Dalić to let him play. He could have clearly tried to save the last two- yet he was standing still as the ball whizzed by.
  8. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooool

Perhaps just so that Americans won't mistake those for Paris, TX, Berlin, NH or London, OH, etc
  9. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooool

    Fantastic goal from Russia.
  10. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooool

What a start to Croatia- Denmark game. 1:1 after only 4 minutes of play.
  11. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooool

До свидания, España! Gritty win by Russians- probably the only way they could pull it off. Glad Spain is out- their game is unbearable to watch. 1000+ passes = 5 shots on goal hardly makes a winning formula.
  12. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooool

Btw, the first goal by Koreans is a good pro argument for VAR.
  13. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooool

Too bad Koreans had no chance to advance. But Mexico owes them A LOT. Didn't see that game but looks like Sweden just torn them apart...yet they're still marching on...Probably not far with a game like that.
  14. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooool

Perhaps the worst day for Germany since May 9, 1945. Meanwhile, Mexicans totally owe their good fortune to Koreans. What a start to a day! Is it too much to ask for Serbs to play like Koreans against Brazil?
  15. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooool

I was watching Portugal- Spain game in the main public square of Lisbon (Praca do Commercio). The vibe there was unbelievable, very positive, even when Spain took the lead.
  16. Goooooooooooooooooooooooooool

France-Denmark- what a disgrace! Hope both will be eliminated in the round of 16.
  17. LF: Abdullah Ibrahim: Ekaya on CD

I believe it was never issued on CD in US, but there is European import issued by Bellaphon. The compilation CD "Mountain" has all but one track from the aforementioned album.
  18. Blue Train (Deluxe Edition)

It's a Blue Gravy Train edition.
  19. It was used, as it is still out of print.
