8 germiest things in public places
PHILLYQ replied to GA Russell's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
At work, I always see guys use the bathroom, then take a piece of paper towel to open the door. I get a laugh out of it, as I'm sure those folks don't get sick any more or less due to the paper towel usage. Me, I grab the handle barehanded! You only live once:) -
The Lyons set is teriffic
-
On the 'Wildflowers' set there are a few cuts with the (now)enemy of the avant garde, Stanley Crouch!

I half agree. To get to the lull (10 years of LA sucking, so the league must not have been good ) they had to kill off the Bad Boys. You play who you have to play, and Seattle, Phoenix & Utah were all fine teams. Certainly as good if not better than the likes of the NJ Nets or that Orlando team the Lakers had to face. Or god, that Cleveland team the Spurs had to face? Sheeeeesh. I think the Bulls competition was just fine during the '90s thankyouverymuch. I have no problem whatsoever with not thinking that Jordan is the greatest ever, I don't even necessarily think it myself. One player isn't going to do it and there are different jobs to be done on the court. What the hell would Jordan vs. Jabbar one-on-one look like anyway? It's silly. And yes, ring counting is stupid. Plus some guys get so close, and fighting the good the fight is what sports is about. Malone & Stockton could easily have a ring each if you call a pushing off foul before "the last shot." And this is the sport with shakiest officiating too. If you do ring counting, Bill Russell is the greatest player ever and Robert Horry is one of the greatest ever(Better than Wilt!), Bob Love stunk, Patrick Ewing stunk, etc.

This is remarkable if true and I'd love to see A-Rod and Braun go down for 100 games, but I can't understand why the owner of the clinic would agree to turn over everything to MLB, essentially announcing to law enforcement that he was a dope dealer. Maybe they were already going to take him down but why admit it all now? I don't think MLB's lawsuit against him was going anywhere, either. What if A-Rod gets suspended for 100 games without pay, does that count against the Yanks salary figures? I ask, because I'm thinking that if A-rod doesn't get off the DL this season, he'll be suspended for 100 games in 2014. If his salary doesn't count because of the suspension, the Yanks have a much easier time of getting under the magic $189 million mark.

If he hadn't gotten so badly injured, maybe, but he lost so many years to injury. IIRC, the doctors screwed up badly on him.

Let us know how that goes- I might be interested in some Power Tools, especially with Pete Cosey.

'Question & Answer' too! -
Better than: Whitey Ford & Yogi? Newcombe & Campanella? Koufax/Drysdale & Roseboro? I'm sure there are others...

Ok, hasn't been much reason to check in here. I'm still doubting Goody's 3rd place finish prediction. 'Stros are 12-32, on pace for a 44-118 season. Ugh. 5 years away from being competitive, assuming everything breaks the right way. Not much incentive to make a trip to Houston for a game, which I used to like to do when I could. Gonna be a while before that happens again. Race between Houston and Miami for worst record in baseball!

It was another pitcher, his last name was Benson, his wife wasn't a stripper, but she showed up for a Christmas kids pary wearing something tight and low cut and she was a big mouth, which helped grease hubby's exit from NYC.

Swisher's not a stud, and if you look only at BA, he appears average. Ho does do a good job of getting on base and his OBP is usually very good. I saw an article in a local paper about Kazmir(former Met), and it sounds like his mechanics were a wreck, due to injuries and not knowing much about his own form. He's only 29, so if he gets it together he could turn out to be a good pitcher.

Retire, move to Manhattan and hit the jazz clubs about 5-6 nights a week, buy any disc I want to play on my very new and cool stereo, start a soup kitchen where I would cook at least some of the food, set up scholarships for college for kids, etc.

Ron Washington: > We can play bas eball. I can't even calculate how much better they are than the pathetic bunch of over-rated douchebags that embarrassed themselves at Arlington this weekend. But Dan, it's the FIRST PLACE bunch of over-rated douchebags!

Anyone order online from Downtown Music Gallery?
PHILLYQ replied to CJ Shearn's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I've done both mail order and in store, never a problem -
I hear a little bit of E.F. Hutton there. I think Gene Autry's ghost took over the team a few years ago. Wells, Mathews Jr., a whole lot for Pujols and again for Hamilton. They seek out players who are heading away from their prime and pay them using some formula involving age & weight. Actually I'm insulting Autry, as at least good years were gotten from Carew and Grich & Baylor were still in their late 20s when they were signed. The Pujols contract will be the Angels version of the Yankees and A-Rod, premium $$ spent on an aging, broken down player in the last years of the contract.
