Hungry Black Hole Spawns Bizarre Four-Armed Galaxy

Stunning pix, thanks for posting them. -
The bass player in the early years of TOP was Victor Conte, of BALCO/steroids fame.

Shouldn't they have had those extensive conversations BEFORE they hired him?

I believe that, why else would ARod take freakin' forever to have the surgery? He must have know no matter when he had it, it was going to be a lost season. He waited to have the surgery in order to reduce his recovery time. By strengthening the area around the hip his recovery after surgery would be lessened. I saw a story about it in the NY Daily News and IIRC it has also been reported in other outlets.

Arthur Blythe 'In the Tradition' I don't think has ever been released on cd. Great date with Stanley Cowell, Steve McCall and fred Hopkins IIRC. Killer version of 'Jitterburg Waltz' on it.

And the Phillies get?? Delmon Young. Meh. Think how much fun Delmon Young'll be when he's drunk and near a synagogue!

Doesn't explain how Tampa scored 48 on the Raiders and doesn't take into account Barrett Robbins vanishing. Also, if they really felt that, why wait ten years to say something?

my dentist wont return my knee
PHILLYQ replied to alocispepraluger102's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
I had arthroscopic surgery on my left knee in 1996(torn meniscus) and have had no problems from it at all. I went to a local hospital, two blocks away, and it turns out that the surgeon was rated one of the top ten in NYC by New York magazine, so I got very lucky. After surgery I used a cane for three days, but walked normally afterwards. I was given rehab exercises to strengthen the joint and did them religously. After six weeks I returned to playing handball and I still play today(I'm almost 57). Surgery has advanced quite a bit and does wonders in many cases, especially with mine. Be sure to get an MRI to get a good look at your knee and check around for a good surgeon to do the job. -
I saw him with Dave Holand's Octet a few years ago and he was excellent.

I just got around to listening to that- hilarious!!! Thanks for posting it.

Your argument about every one juicing centers on the athletes all having equal access to equal drugs that produce equal effects in each person, no? I don't think that's the case in real life. And then there were still athletes that weren't juicing at all, so those were at an unfair disadvantage, though ethically and morally correct. And some folks are better at doping...

Earl Weaver was way ahead of his time. He was using statistical analysis before anybody had a computer.

And tried his very best to destroy the lives and careers of all those who told the truth about he was up to. Don't think that "all of his peers" did that. Yes, but that was not cheating, that was something else. Only the winner would ever have had to do that. Why be more angry about Armstrong's cheating than about that of every rider who took a podium place, or indeed of anyone who placed 50th? The answer is not in the cheating. That was already there in the sport, there are hundreds of names implicated. The teams and cycling authorities knew all about it. So yes people dislike Lance humanly, but without him some other cheat - sanctioned implicitly by the team and by the race and by the UCI - would have won. Hate Lance, yes if you like, but why not hate everyone else? If Armstrong were not so arrogant in his denials, if he didn't sue and otherwise try to ruin people who told the truth about his doping, if he had merely denied the doping and then admitted it I might be OK with that as an admission of guilt. But he didn't.

Lyin' sack of sh-- as we say in Brooklyn.

It's a good thing I wasn't drinking anything or I'd be cleaning up my keyboard now!!! That cracked me up! Right after the last SB I saw Brady's face on the Dos Equis guy, and the caption was 'I don't often play the Giants in the Super Bowl, but when I do, I lose'

going to the grave in debt

IIRC, a lot of bankruptcies are not caused by profligate spending but by medical bills -
He did a great job for the Yanks last year filling in for Rivera

Although Eddie Murray hated sportswriters and they voted him in. Rose is still disqualified.

IIRC, Sports Illustrated did a poll of NBA players and KG was also voted the dirtiest player. After I saw that poll, I started to watch him more carefully and he does a lot of stuff that doesn't get called, elbows, locking up arms, stepping on feet, etc, much more so than other players.
-
The way he played and the blind eye to concussions made it inevitable that he would suffer. Same as Dave Duerson, etc.
-
A happy ending, and once again Mosaic lives up to its reputation as a first-class operation.

Every player who received 50%+ in their first year has reached the HOF. Rose violated a rule that has been streesed since the White Sox threw the WS. There's a sign about it in every facility. He knew that what he was doing was wrong, he knew the potential consequences and he STILL did it. Zero sympathy here, you make your bed...
