It's a burn of the mp3s. I haven't bought one of these, but there's a review on Amazon of Ran Blake's The Blue Potato that cites the source as a dirty needle drop. Sounds like these are to be avoided, for the most part.

Ick. I suppose the mp3s themselves are also potentially nasty needle drops. Talk about the worst of both worlds!

Well, my VINYL reissue (yes, by Fresh Sound :crazy: ) of the Trans-World release sounds quite OK, clear and crisp to my ears ("fresh", in fact ;).

And at any rate it has the advantage of a medium that will LAST. ;)
