I think it's best if we drop the Blue Note bulletin board talk. Jim Alfredson has said that he doesn't want that discussion here. Let's stick to this board's beginnings without re-hashing old endings.
I joined the BNBB in 2001. My first thread there was about the master tapes for Duke Pearson's 'Sweet Honey Bee', which Tom Evered confirmed to be lost. I came over here on March 10, 2003. I felt young then, I still feel young in a sense, but I guess I'm middle aged now.
I am so saddened and worried about the state of the world today that I cannot muster much energy for online message boards, not even as a means of mental escape. I do not encourage any political discussion here, just explaining the reason for a shift in focus. I am fortunate that I still play piano with a couple of bands and occasionally find time to listen to music at home. I am raising three kids, and I have a lot of concern about the reality they are facing.
This place brought me a lot of joy, enlightenment and I made a couple of friends. Much grateful for that.
