  5. That's a good record.
  6. Booker Ervin - Back from the Gig (Blue Note, released 1976) I'm listening to the second LP in this set, recorded in 1968 and issued on CD in 2005 as Tex Book Tenor. Excellent stuff.

  8. Now playing: The MPS Rhythm Combination & Brass - Power Play (MPS/BASF, 1973) In Germany, this album was released as a 2-LP set. The version of Power Play released in the U.S. was abridged to a single disc. I have the U.S. version (unfortunately), which, in addition to having fewer tracks, almost certainly sounds less impressive AQ-wise than German pressings. [Sigh.] OTOH, something is better than nothing. 😜
  9. I think this is Joshua Redman’s first for Blue Note, “Words Fall Short.” I really like it.
  10. More Songs about Buildings and Food.
  11. Blossom Dearie “Blossom Time at Ronnie Scott’s” Fontana/Universal Japan SHM-CD Such a great listen. For a Ronnie Scott’s recording, pretty darned good. Blossom Dearie – piano, vocals Jeff Clyne – double bass Johnny Butts – drums Recorded 1966
  12. Thanks for the tip. I see this recording is on ECM, and I like a lot of the classical releases they've done. This one is paired with Bartok #5, so I'm looking forward to getting it in! Found a decent enough deal on Discogs and it's on the way. Again, thanks!

  14. Winnipeg 40....Toronto 31 Unusual game. Neither team was impressive, but both scored plenty of points. Trey Vaval returned two kicks for touchdowns. https://www.cfl.ca/2025/08/02/recap-winnipeg-40-toronto-31/ https://www.cfl.ca/2025/08/01/trey-vavals-two-return-touchdowns-spark-bombers-win-over-argos/ https://www.tsn.ca/cfl/trey-vaval-boosts-winnipeg-blue-bombers-in-win-over-toronto-argonauts-1.2342066 https://3downnation.com/2025/08/02/trey-vaval-lifts-winnipeg-blue-bombers-to-win-over-argonauts-13-other-thoughts/ https://3downnation.com/2025/08/02/toronto-argonauts-perform-opposite-of-a-bounce-back-falter-in-bombers-rematch-six-other-thoughts/ https://cflnewshub.com/cfl-news/cfl-scores-today-winnipeg-blue-bombers-40-toronto-argonauts-31-bombers-end-three-game-skid-behind-vavals-two-special-teams-tds/ https://www.cfl.ca/2025/08/02/3-stats-that-defined-winnipegs-week-9-win-over-toronto/ ***** Sask-Mtl previews https://cflnewshub.com/cfl-news/saskatchewan-roughriders-6-1-week-9-preview-vs-montreal-alouettes-5-2-prediction-depth-chart-injuries-odds/ https://cflnewshub.com/cfl-news/cfl-schedule-today-august-2nd-2025-hamilton-vs-edmonton-saskatchewan-vs-montreal-tv-channels-live-stream-odds/ https://pifflespodcast.com/blog/game-day-roughriders-look-to-enter-bye-on-a-high-face-alouettes-in-montreal/
