  2. Phyllis Belgrade - Here - It's Phyllis!!! (with orchestra conducted by Almer Spootzenmacher)
  3. I think this is the case with some of the OJCs. Also got a few Soul Note and Black Saint albums that were actually CDRs. I did not return them as I saw it as my own (misreading) mistake but was pretty annoyed anyway
  4. I'm wondering if the Sony person meant "bandwidth" as in literal bandwidth for the high-res files or as in "we have too much to do and not enough people at this moment,"
  5. Kurt Masur - The Complete Warner Classics Edition, disc 53.
  6. They ended up with Connie Kay, so all's well that ends well.
  7. Today
  8. That Golia LP is strong, yes. Maury Coles' Solo Saxophone Record on Onari is another good one. I'm not sure how to categorize overdub fantasias like Mario Schiano and his All-Stars or Rahsaan's Natural Black Inventions: Root Strata, but they are solo records by people who play saxophones!
  9. Saw them there as Piano Trio only .... they presented a new album titled "Blues Inside Out" (MPS) ....
  10. Now listening to Phil Woods' tribute to departed musical friends: Phil Woods - I Remember... (Gryphon, 1979)
  11. Flora Purim - Open Your Eyes You Can Fly (Milestone, 1976)
  12. Yes! I tried to find the film last night, but it wasn't on the streaming services we use. It must be terrible. It is from 1959, but it reuses stock footage from the 1932 film!
  13. Chino y Su Conjunto Melao - En Mi Casa Latina (Latina Records, 1979)
  14. My favorite is Lee Konitz's Lone-Lee. Almost 40 min of "The Song Is You" is a small wonder. st
  15. Damn, although I'm not exactly sure what that means. I mean, did that attitude affect the MJQ at all?
  16. This one is good. Reminds me I need to give it another listen.
  17. That should be one for me ....
  18. He was the greatest, IMHO, and speeled himself Jerry 😉
