  3. But if you look at the numbers, there are many more stupid teen drivers. Two teen drivers on my block have died in accidents since I moved here. No old farts.
  4. Ann and I had moved from Chicago to Bloomington, Indiana. We met my parents in Chicago that day to take them to our new place. We all had rooms at a motel around Lincoln and Ashland and watched it on tv. We still have a copy of the Chicago Trib from the next morning.
  5. Zen is a school of Mahāyāna Buddhism notable for its emphasis on practice and experiential wisdom—particularly as realized in the form of meditation known as zazen—in the attainment of awakening. I'd rather not be awaken by Toro! Gee, you are much deeper than I thought.
  6. That master of celebrity, Larry King is running a tape of Jim and Tammy Faye now. Reminded me these were two animated characters, not real people.
  7. I think piano duets are a silly idea. Two people with all these harmonic problems at their fingertips and you want them to play together? Some ego will be smashed. If the egos were smashed earlier things might be fine.
  8. Since your first name is Zen, I don't see a problem.
  9. I would say skip it. Anything you really need can be had elsewhere and you could spend the money more productively.
  10. Larry King must be going nuts.
  11. So................it seems you've tried. Bad luck for that woman in the bar.
  12. The Okka release statement: "okkadisk is very very proud to announce the release of CD OD12056 Baker/Hunt/Sandstrom/Williams "extraordinary popular delusions" a new studio recording by four master musicians who have been living and exuding wondrous, beautiful and mind blowing jazz and improvised music together in Chicago for over 20 years (thank you Hal Russell & Ken Vandermark). This is a truly magical recording!" These are all friends and the disc is in stock. $13 delivered in North America - others should contact me for reduced shipping. Full catalog available from me. PayPal and catalog requests at nessarecords@charter.net.

  14. A noisy "classic". Indeed. Church Number Nine is actually my favorite of this group, but the BYG is excellent also. Now: Karl Berger - Tune In - (Milestone) w/ Carlos Ward, Ed Blackwell and some bassist named David Holland... I was referring to the BYG pressings, not the music. Downloads galore.

  16. Did you know he was from Louisiana?
  17. Grilled pork chops, new potatoes, peas/zucchini, plums/raspberries and beer.

  19. Ok...seems that this game is not the "real" Screw Your Neighbor, but is instead a variant of SKIP-BO: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skip_bo which was originally entitled Spite & Malace. Fun game no matter what the name, and not without a good bit of strategy built into it. Our family calls it Shit On Your Neighbor. Played it for 30+ years during the holidays.
  20. "Herb" brats, mangos and raspberries, baked beans, beer and cheeze.
  21. Old memory cells at work: I bought that the same day I got Dolphy's "Conversations" (FM) and Andrew's "Black Fire". Those were the days.
