  1. I agree -- the stationary bike is perfect for reading the Economist. Unfortunately, my new apt complex doesn't have one, so I (attempt to) read it while on the Treadmill. Guy Guy, have you dealt with serious weight loss or are your posts theoretical? BTW, nuts are full of fat. Salt free nuts don't help much.
  2. Most don't want to hear it but follow the "Weight Watchers" regime. Just really smart eating and exercise program. My wife and I lost a combined 125 lbs (over 5 years ago) and still love eating. It balances fat, fiber, carbs, calories, etc. Most folks need some sort of discipline and WW provides this.
  3. Me either but Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw must be the reason.
  4. The post-bop nonet history should read something like Miles, Konitz, etc. Not Lovano, Wallace. No insult to either of the more "recent" gentlemen.
  5. Lots o' luck,
  6. Incorrect.
  7. I understand the difference but when we involve the government (or business) one becomes the other.
  8. One of my first five albums was by Armstrong's Hot Five.
  9. That's true if the question was for "music you really like since you started paying attention".
  10. Oh boy...
  11. It means you have "relaxed/shifted" your standards. Maybe not a bad thing for you but let me deal with my own standards.
  12. Uptown interviewed Hadley for the Mingus reissue and more recently for an upcoming Dupree Bolton release. He seems to be in good shape.
  13. Do we really need to insure our citizens against stupidity? Dealing with "reality", we will insure them if "Wall St" will be damaged. What a bag of crap.
  14. Really interesting date. I wish I still had the vinyl and I wish I'd snagged the cd when available. Lack of funds is bad shit.
  15. And of its time.
  16. The real issue is the condition of the Wall Street holders of the "mortgages". Bunches of hot shots will lose money.
  17. Indeed. I was introduced by a solo disc on Emanem.
  18. Hope the day (and the year ahead) is wonderful.
  19. Orange Kellin Reginald Kell Reggie Workman
  20. Forgot to mention black macaroni on the side.
