  1. You'd be better served to find some sound bites from Buddy Hackett. At least you might get a laugh or to out of it.
  2. From Denmark, that is... Actually he said that he had just returned from the airport and picked up his shipment....From Denmark!
  3. Spoke to Peter at Stateside today and it looks like the Dexter Gordon set will start shipping very soon.
  4. And the discussion moves from "Horsemen" to horseshit........
  5. Ed, don't forget to have a Froshmen disc playing in the backround while you're hoisting one in honor of Breshnev's nephew!!
  6. Yeah, I think Headley Scott morphed into Weizen!
  7. This topic will no doubt smoke out the "Mad Russian" once again! At any rate, some time ago, I was talking to Scott about the most and least popular Mosaics and I was told that the Buddy DeFranco took them forever to sell out and that up to that time, the Django set was the most popular. Now that the gauntlet about the Freshmen has been thrown down, can that vodka swilling commie be far behind?
  8. The Complete Roulette Jack Teagarden Sessions(Mosaic) Lorez Alexandria-"Early In the Morning"(with Ramsey Lewis Trio) Gerry Mulligan-"Meets Ben Webster" Dexter Gordon & Slide Hampton-"Day In Copenhagen" Jimmy Woods Sextet-"Conflict" Toshiko Akiyoshi/Lew Tabackin-"Live In Newport '77"(Part1) Good Night, Folks!!! Have a Nice Weekend!
  9. I should send you a photo of my mother-in-law, if you want to get the screaming jitters!
  10. I got mine yesterday as well and listened to three of the discs and am extremely pleased with everything. The remastering is excellent and the music is wonderful. If this set isn't as good as the Capitol sessions, its damned close. IMO--one of the better sets released by Mosaic in awhile. Teagarden is Fantastic!
  11. Not Spam, Ramman Noodles!
  12. At a point in time, I had like 35+ people working for me in my business, I've been called far worse things than Bread or Grey Poupon!
  13. Okay Ed now that this is all behind us, the number to call for this fine set is 1-888-776-0436 and ask to speak to Peter Crawfish, er, Crawford.
  14. I didn't intend to offend. My apologies to you both!!
  15. I concur with Spinach!
  16. I guess its all verbiage, but right now I'm coming down the symptoms of a new Jack Teagarden flu.
  17. During the last big Mosaic sale, I was able to get almost the entire Classic Capitol Jazz Sessions on vinyl and a pretty nice discount to boot. You could check to see what they currently have available if you are flirting with that set and also are a vinyl fan. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------P.S. The Maynard Ferguson set is finally OOP.
  18. I think that maybe like a lot of us, you caught the Mosaic bug and that list of OOP sets is overwhelming. Like Brad said they show up on eBay frequently. Right now, two particular sellers have quite a list of these on eBay and the prices are a lot more reasonable than when I was buying these up.
  19. HORACE PARLAN-"Alone" DEXTER GORDON-"Cheesecake" JACK PURVIS-"1928-1935"(Jazz Oracle) JACK TEAGARDEN-"Complete Capitol Fiftees Sessions"(Mosaic)
  20. Hey that Bill Evans set is still available on CD as well.
  21. Quite a list, but look on the bright side. The Bobby Hackett set is still available!
  22. From the soundbites on the Mosaic site, this set looks very tastey!
  23. . "This title is in our warehouse and will begin shipping on March 24."--From Mosaic's website.
  24. Ubu, Thanks for the details. The remastered former material plus the bonus of unreleased tracks make this a Win-Win situation for Mulligan fans and Mosaic Junkies as well.
  25. Gerry Mulligan/Shorty Rogers-"Modern Sounds" Steve Kuhn/Gary McFarland-"October Suite" Jessica Williams-"All Alone" Dusko Goykovich Big Band-"Balkan Connection" Slide Hampton SWR Big Band-"Jazz Matinee" Slide Hampton-"Exodus" Red Norvo-"The Second Time Around"
