  1. The music is good but the booklet that chronicles the legend of Purvis is great! What a whacked-out life!!
  2. Listening to more Teddy Edwards over the weekend: "Sunset Eyes" "It's All Right!" "Good Gravy" Also a few discs from "Consecration" by Bill Evans
  3. Was that book buying expedition at Bud Plant?
  4. Oh yeah? Well what about his album "Ballads For Lulu"? That's not too shabby either!!!
  5. Nice photos of your high school science project. Was it live or was it Memorex?
  6. I agree too. It seems like everytime someone posts some info about new releases either on Mosaic or Classic Blue Note there seems to be a flurry of enthusiastic response on the part of the posters here and interest in buying up these new items. Most of us are in it for the music, we've found alternate forums of expression so lets go forward..........
  7. Only for us Fuddy-Duddies!

  14. We don't need their stinkin' board!!
  15. Looks like I'm getting double-teamed here today. Did you boys get Chocolate EX-LAX bunnies for Easter?
  16. Don't look now but he's started his thread about why people are posting here again. I guess he didn't piss off enough people the first time around!

    Eddie Higgins

Jim, thanks for sharing this information. Higgins' recordings on Venus and Sunnyside are top drawer, IMO!!
  18. Lon, Can anyone have too much Hodges?
  19. I'm up for that Johnny Hodges set. Its in the bag!!!
  20. try going to www.harlem.org for some information.
  21. I don't have any inside info, but that Keynote set has been a dream of mine as well. Maybe if someone at Mosaic is snooping over here..................................................
  22. I have purchased a few of their sets and am pleased with their products. The sound is quite nice and the bookets very well researched. The boxes are much sturdier than the Mosaic Selects. Maybe not quite as classic as Mosaic but the price differential is considerable. Recently got the Wardell Grey and Dexter Gordon boxes and they are well done. Previously picked up a few anthology boxes, I forgot the titles, but they too are worthy of purchase.
  23. Looks like the gang's all here! If I see Pharorock over here, I'm going over the wall!!
  24. Sent them an order about a month or so ago and have been unable to reach them. Looks like I took it up the keyster to the tune of 40 bucks. Adios dinero!!!
  25. Berigan, my fellow "Fuddy Duddy", I called today and the set is available for pre-orders and will ship some time in May!
