Its a positive high, Jack! I think that is a great suggestion!!
I've been a fan of "One Foot In the Gutter" and recently a good friend turned me on to "Into Something" which I really dig. These two compiled with other material would make a great Select.
I'm up for asking if Ravi Shankar has a favorite color. Does he have his own board or is he riding on the skirt-tails of his famous off-spring, I can't remember her name at the moment, Nola Something..............................................
They do have the notes from the original Blue Notes and are licenced to Time-Life Records, Barcelona from Blue Note which is clearly documented on the disc and several times on the back inlay and booklet insert. They are legit.
If this attitude will be the driving force behind the new and improved ("re-opening soon") Blue Note Board, I don't see many of the old regime getting beyond the first post there either.
I have to agree with Mr Sangry here. As a result of positive comments on this board, I have sought out and listening to a lot of both Teddy Edwards and Von Freeman lately and loving every minute of it. Its great to sample different artists even if they don't appear on Blue Note connected labels!
