  1. haven't asked about the fuckwad, as I already found this definition in Funk and Wagnalls: "fuckwad - figure of speech originating in Florida; often found in reference to radio announcers and other voiceover artists who have had sex with local alligators"
  2. in the latest Jazz Times Larry Coryell, in a Before and After, says some nice things about Beck -
  3. 1) what's an asshat? (I'm afraid to ask) 2) Friday was indeed a strange night - after running into Julianne Moore I landed at JFK and the first person I saw was John Quinones (he's on one of those news/magazine shows) - than, the next day, sitting in a coffee shop on Third Avenue, I see a guy who is a DOUBLE for Frank Zappa (circa 1970) - I told him so, and he told me he gets that a lot - 3) this jewel box thing is big, and it's growing - I heard Gould's writing a book about it - now, if I can only get Julianne to stop calling me........ or, maybe, START calling me....
  4. "Between your comment and Lowe's....not the most compassionate folks I have seen." ahh, Berigan, if I only had your compassion for the poor and oppressed.... how's that Nobel Prize look up on the wall?
  5. I once had a boil lanced -
  6. I would consider selling my music an honor as long as it went toward keeping Dick Cheney living well -
  7. he grew a beard and got arrested in Serbia -
  8. I'm still trying to find out who took my wallet - and don't blame Zoey!
  9. I hope you stocked up -
  10. what I don't understand is, why wasn't it called "Groovalansing" ?
  11. I was wondering why she was always doing those Bogart impressions -
  12. $$$$$ sent - I threw in a few extra bucks for the jewel case -
  13. hmmmm....well, as long as you don't send it for DNA testing -
  14. I thought Andorra was the mother on Bewitched -
  15. changed his name to Buffy Smith -
  16. well, as somebody used to say, "reality is for people who can't face drugs."
  17. 2 cd set, praised in Signal to Noise, Cadence, All About Jazz - Organissimo Comments: "whether I'm in the mood for the Minutemen or the Art Ensemble, Jews in Hell has become my 'go to' disc" "(Lowe is) the man who has alienated countless gig-giving people" from Cadence: "the program is infused with Lowe's incredible knowledge of American music history" on sale this month - $10 shipped media; prefer paypal - my paypal address is alowe5@maine.rr.com email me at same
  18. Jim - I was trying to order but when I go to the place to order it the music starts and I'm at work and everybody knows I'm not working; I don't mind not working but I don't want everyone to know I'm not working (since I'm so difficult and can't get any gigs according to one Organissimo member; so I gotta keep this gig) - can I order direct through paypal or should I just do it from home tonight?
  19. just got back from NYC where I spent some interesting and enlightening time with Chris Albertson, Matt Shipp, Roswell Rudd, Marnie Stern, 7/4 and Julianne Moore - difficult times here on Organissimo, car accidents, motorcycle accidents, cancer, missing jewel boxes - hope everybody's ok - I'm tired, and it was about 100 degrees in NYC, where I walked everywhere to save cab fare; trying to shoot my film - things went well - in case anyone's wondering, I ran into Julianne Moore at Portland Airport, where she was taking her son home from camp - I was standing next to her on line at Starbucks; I said to her - "I know you're an actress, and I apologize, but I cannot think of your name." She was very gracious, though that didn't stop her from calling the cops when I tried to steal a pair of her underpants from her suitcase -
  20. first concert I ever went to - Museum of Modern Art in the Garden, circa 1968 - saw James Moody with Dizzy's rhythm section - Candy Finch, forget the piano player's name, also forget the other guy's name- interestingly enough Moody, whom I love, did not play well that day -
  21. Getz was a jerk; read the bio; Bill Evans' wife told me that on tour Getz used to try to pick up all the band members' wives - he also broke up Astrid Gilberto's marriage (no wonder she moved to Philadelphia) -
  22. I'm not a big Getz fan, though he is somewhat tolerable in the '50s - to me he is one of those true narcissists whose narcissism comes across in almost all of his playing -
  23. well, I'm looking around to donate my collection - if it's a good enough collection, and the particular library is truly serious, they won't discard it - though my particular collection comes with the Lowe curse -
  24. maybe this time they'll tune the piano -
