  1. Everything I listen to nowadays is on Spotify. Vast and ever-changing jazz selection.
  2. My favorites were Feldman, Jones and Hayes, as on Adderley at the Lighthouse. Never got to see them, though - well, separately, but not together w Cannonball. By the time I got to see Cannon it was Zawinul, Jones, Hayes (w Chas Lloyd). Agreed he had wonderful rhythm sections. I also like Barry Harris, Jones, Hayes.

  5. I think your attitude to jazz of the seventies is likely to depend on when you started listening and whether jazz or rock was your first music of choice. In my experience people born around 1940 who came to jazz in the late 1950s often regard c.1945-65 as the classic period.

  7. As to Dizzy's last appearance in Europe, I saw him in Manchester with the United Nations orchestra not long before he died. I think it was in 1991.
