  8. Of course. But I seem to see it every time I go to London for a concert. In Sheffield or Nottingham people usually don't give up the ghost until half time. Festivals are a bit different - the all-in-one cards tend to encourage dipping in and out. Yes, I've seen people with that sort of card at week-long or weekend-long festivals in Wigan and Southport sitting on the front row reading newspapers while the musicians are playing!

On the other hand, Italian-descended American altoist Greg Abate writes this in the notes to his latest album, Greg Abate Quintet Featuring Phil Woods: "'Rocco's Place' was composed in 2010 and written for Rocco Muriale, owner and chief chef of Rocco's Italian Restaurant in Cerido, West Virginia, in my opinion the best Italian restaurant I've ever dined at."

  23. No, I haven't any records with him as leader - have him on some Lester Young sides - but I did see him play solo piano in a Manchester pub on a tour arranged in the 70s by British record producer Tony Williams.
