This has been going on for years and it's got nothing to do with the United States. The time differences between the EU and the United States are 5-10 hours (depends on where you are), so an hour more or less wouldn't make any difference.

Are you sure it's copy-protected? Does it say so in the booklet, on the CD or the inserts? Did you try another CD player?

I'll bite: what's so finicky about not liking McMaster's masterings?? I knew McMaster mastered this set and I generally don't like his mastering jobs (to put it mildly), yet I ordered it, that's how much I love the music.
