  1. Check out the link Claude posted above.
  2. I've only been able to listen to the CD-layer and that's great. It even made me sell my Japanese 20-bit Digital K2 remastered mini-LP CD reissue.
  3. The site hasn't been updated for quite a while - the Dave Liebman and Dizzy Reece Selects are still listed under "Upcoming Releases"...
  4. According to AMG Fresh Sound released an unauthorized LP with ABC material.

Some of the noise is very loud, though... Less than 100 to go... Saving up yet?
  6. A while ago I compared the Japanese 20-bit Digital K2 remastered mini-LP CD reissue of the Dolphy and the CD-layer of the SACD, and the latter "won", albeit by a very narrow margin.
  7. where does it state that? Oops, I guess I totally misread the review Sorry about that... I'll check my discographies and the tracklists of the various Savoy reissues. Please post the results! Those new Savoy packages are too expensive to just order now and think later (even more so in my buying freeze...) ubu All the tracks on the Savoy Norvo / Farlow / Mingus compilations Move and The Savoy Sessions do appear on The Modern Red Norvo and more.

  9. Certainly not my Keepnews!
  10. According to AMG, this set doesn't have all the tracks either.
  11. You know, there's a city called Parma, very good cheese called Parmiggiano, a painter called Parmigianino, and then there's prosciutto di parma... ain't that already more than we deserve? ubu What about Parmalat?? I don't think the City of Parma is still very proud of that corporation...
  12. For those interested, Toshiba reissued Sal Salvador's Bethlehem albums on CD in Japan a few years ago. Last time I looked they were still available.

I'm especially interested in the Gratkowski, it certainly "looks" good, hopefully it will sound OK too.
  14. Oh yes! Those guys are amazing. Was the Red Norvo trio with Mingus ever released on CD? Yes, in truncated form, on one Savoy CD; they cut a few tracks that were on the Savoy 2LP-set.
