I was listening to this record the other night. This is a fade that works perfectly, imo.

Hard to name a favorite, but TO MY SON has been my go-to in recent years. Phenomenally personal music. -

I really wish Dmitry were still around. Yes to his entire catalog, especially considering you are already hooked. -

Traditional Christmas dinner?
.:.impossible replied to GA Russell's topic in Miscellaneous - Non-Political
Tim McG, I can't tell if you are kidding or not. Hoping you are kidding and had a great meal! Merry Christmas everyone. Poached salmon and a mustard cream sauce served to perfection this evening by my Uncle Rick. -
Traditional Christmas dinner?

Man, I love brussel sprouts. Pan roasted. Look up Bittman's pages on the delectable. Dry cured Virginia Ham, Standing Rib Roast, Lamb, local oysters and shrimp, smoked rockfish, trout... Depends on who's hosting. So many great cooks in my family, there is no going wrong! Christmas Eve is a massive family cocktail party at my Aunt and Uncle's house. Heavy hors d'ouvres and old fashioneds. Merriment abound! -

SATA/IDE Adapter Recommendations?

MP3 vs. Vinyl? -
Howdy folks. I'm looking for some advice on an external, most likely hot-swappable, SATA/IDE to USB adapter. I have a stack of HDDs that I would like to retrieve data from. I'm hoping that in at least a few of their cases, it was an enclosure or power supply failure. Any recommendations?

Recommend a great Rock/Pop album.
.:.impossible replied to Scott Dolan's topic in Miscellaneous Music
I think you will be pleased with any Spacebomb Record. It's all on iTunes. This will come as no surprise to Brooks, but I enthusiastically second the Sturgill Simpson recommendation. PS Big Stroker Ace fan myself! -

You might also like The Barr Brothers. Two albums under this name, formerly 2/3 of The Slip, which was a rock trio. I'd also recommend anything coming out of Spacebomb. http://spacebombrecords.com/releases I really loved/love Caveman's last album. Keeps growing with me. -
We sold our house, quit our jobs, and moved up to Richmond in late Spring. My wife took the summer off to spend time with the kids before the school year. She landed in a great position with the James River Association a few weeks back. Perfect fit. I'm reluctant to share much personal information online these days. Still a bit shell-shocked for obvious reasons I guess.

Is streaming technology saving the music industry?
.:.impossible replied to A Lark Ascending's topic in Audio Talk
The real myth is that the two operating systems are vastly different. From the daily user's perspective, they are not. Highlighting features and benefits of either is just marketing. Software applications cross platforms almost seemlessly at this stage. Regardless, a consumer is not required to have a rational reason for choosing one product or service over another. As for the streaming discussion, I don't have a strong opinion. I stream, download, play CD, LP, XM, AM, FM, and cassette if the need arises. I'm not looking to lock horns on this. Just sharing my perspective. -

Yes. That's the only other option, as evidenced by the balance of our membership. We are all just ignoring each other. -

It seems the only way to monitor progress is through the iPhone settings>Icloud>storage>Manage storage.
-
I'm hoping someone here can help me out. Shawn? Last night, I upgraded my iCloud storage to 200GB to free up some hard drive space. I have drag/dropped about 16 folders from various locations and my iPhoto Library totaling 140GB on my Macintosh HD to my iCloud Drive with the expectation that I would see an increase in Free Space. This is not the case. In fact, I seem to have less Free Space than I had last night... I'm wondering if the migration process takes time and there is not way to monitor progress? When I log in to the computer under my wife's username, I am still showing 5GB even though the account has been set up as Family. MacBook Pro 15-inch, Mid 2009 OSX Yosemite I should note, when I look at the iCloud drive capacity on my phone, I am showing 124GB. That is not at all what the laptop tells me. I have a time machine capsule set up, but am hesitant to delete files from the macbook! I have two young children and very little time to do the requisite research that I was once able to keep up with.
