Not entirely true. The company existed well into the 70's. Their most successful acts were the Dukes of Dixieland, Al Hirt, and they had a big hit with a middle Eastern album entitled "Port Said".

The guitarist is Eddie Lang.

I don't know whether I'd call Stafford a jazz singer, but it really doesn't matter. She's a fine singer with a wonderful feeling for a song, and a beautiful understated style that really does a song justice. Aside from the overtly novelty fare that Columbia foisted on her, her recorded output is of a consistently high standard. She's one of my absolute favorite singers, jazz or otherwise.

I only know Marchel from his recordings - never got to see him in person. A beautiful Texas tenor player. R.I.P.
