  1. Don't forget Four For Trane ...
  2. Like cheek-eye
  3. Oh my. That is really so sad. Along with the similar-minded Marion Brown, he was one of my favorite players to emerge from the 60s scene. I treasure his every performance, and am glad to know there are so many yet to discover. RIP.
  4. . An all-time favorite, and a massive slab of music.
  5. I'll put in a good word for Olio. Great session, very well composed so that it really comes off advanced, not like a jam.
  6. Just scored the 10xCD complete box, otherwise I certainly would hold onto this. It has some of my favorite Bird.
  7. $20 shipped in the US. This is the handsome trifold tin box in near mint condition.
  8. One great Steeplechase he's on is Ron McClure's Soft Hands.
  9. Huh. Not familiar but I'll give a listen to just about anyone from Chicago.
  10. Out on CD now! http://www.nimbuswest.com/
  11. Yeah, GF's Point of Departure is a cheap and easy find on CD or LP.
  12. I noticed but figure it's OK to take a year off. Glad to see Junot Diaz and Dinaw Mingetsu get a prize.
  13. Cool, I'm very excited. Thanks for linking the interview, too.
  14. That would be lovely. A real high point in both their careers.
  15. I've not heard of this recording before, so I'm assuming it's never been released. Wish I knew when it dated from.
  16. More Lacy on the horizon: Roaratorio (who released the Lacy LP Sideways, one of his rarest, most expensive records) is announcing a one sided duo LP with Joe McPhee (!) called The Rest to be released in the near future.
  17. Just realized I never got around to owning this after having listened to a library copy some years back. Just remedied that and am looking forward to hearing it again.
  18. Yeah, I have to admit I've never heard these arguments extend to used CDs and LPs. I believe in art just as much as the next guy, but when I buy a CD, the thing is my property, just like, say a table. Now I may not be entitled to manufacture my own knockoff of the table and sell it at half the price, but I can sell the damn table if I want.
  19. Roscoe Mitchell Sound Ensemble - Live in Detroit (Cecma)
  20. In all honesty, I just can't "hear" music that is downloaded/burned. The connection is missing, even when it's something like a performance that is being offered by the artist. I mean, it's easier in that situation, but still far from ideal.
  21. Yeah, DG has all the recent LT issues. Amazon has them too, though for a bit more.
  22. Thanks for taking it so I'm not forced to spent what I oughtn't!
  23. Have at it! I hope you all find something to enjoy on this one.
  24. I have 4 Wyton-- Black Codes, J Mood, Citi Movement and the Monk album-- no Branford. I like the Wynton albums for what they are. Citi Movement is really quite good, in a bravura type of way. The Monk is overlong, but I think it's clever-- good sidemen.
