  1. I'd love that too, Clunky. Not holding out hope, however. High on my list is a Konitz Verve with the complete Half Note performances.
  2. The Fischer is great. I still spin it regularly. I've said before, and I will say again, I will buy anything you put out, period. I know the Tapscott from West Coast Hot but can't wait to hear it anew with the stunning artwork. I believe Dogon AD was released by Tim Berne on his screwgun label with makeshift artwork about 10-15 years ago. He still offers Blue Boye in a similar incarnation.
  3. I won't get mine til tomorrow even though it was among the first to ship. I hate living in the boonies.
  4. My two cents: HT would sell much better to a much broader base. This is the kind of record certain experimental rock & crate digger types can get behind. Hopefully to the tune of 1000. I think if the Hemphill can do it, The Giant is Awakened can do at least 75% as well.
  5. Sorry to hear about this great master's illness. I hope the concert is a success, and I will listen to some of his playing today.
  6. Agreed, a wonderful record with a great lineup.
  7. That is probably a CD cover. Some Interplay CDs have bonus tracks, and they come tacked onto the title. One example is the CD edition of Warne Out. To answer mjzee's question about The Trio +1
  8. It wasn't. It's great music and a nice package, but ... I still don't get it. Are people really buying these? Again, if they are, I'm pleased Mosaic is getting the revenue, but I just strain to see the market for four straight reissues of music most dedicated jazz fans have already in a non-descript black package to the tune of $100. Maybe I'm underestimating something.
  9. I wonder how well these have been selling. If its apace, then good on them I guess.
  10. (Selects are not viable, but $100 LP boxes of wiiiiiidely available material is?)
  11. Well, alright then! http://www.mosaicrecords.com/prodinfo.asp?number=3004
  12. Maybe if it was Beard of Stars.

    Anthony Braxton

Thanks. It's been a slow year for physical product in the Braxoverse!
  14. I don't get it. The BC-13 box from the early 80s is sonically exquisite and this new set has the lousy 1987 CD remixes of Help & Rubber Soul. You can also get the former for less than half the price.
  15. I'm fine pulling out A World of Piano every now and again. I never warmed to We Three, honestly. Just not my cup.
  16. I just grabbed The Kid & The Brute off Amazon for $1.50. There's one more copy at this price. I'm assuming this is what it says-- hopefully not a cheapo Euro edition. But for the price I had to see. Also, most Elite titles are priced between $12-25 on there for the moment. Multiple copies of the Sonny Stitt for $6+, though again I wonder if its actually the VEE or a EU budget edition.
  17. PM on Blakey/EmArcy
  18. Yeah, I ought to say "out of the 10 or so I've heard". I don't see myself stumbling upon Torments anytime soon.
  19. Maybe my favorite solo Lacy album.
  20. Yes, they said they'd definitely like to. But there's not a chance.
  21. Thelonious Monk - At The Five Spot Clifford Brown - Memorial Album (RVG) Bud Powell - Vol. 4: The Scene Changes (McMaster) Aaron Parks - Invisible Cinema Any one or two for another CD. All four for three CDs. Always looking for Grant Green, Dexter Gordon, Hank Mobley, Art Blakey, and Horace Silver titles.
  22. Paul Plimley and Lisle Ellis did an Ornette album for hatART called Kaleidoscopes that is magnificent.
