Well, I guess I wanted people to describe it to me also.

Cool. I'll have to get some do up to get some cd's. I got about 10 albums I'm thinking about.

I don't know if this has been discussed here. You guys like Apogee?

Hey yo' people. You know what attracted to Grant Green's I Wanna Hold Your Hand? The title. I guess Green took the same Wes Montgomery route, which I do like. What are your thoughts on this album. I have not yet listened to this date. Did Green sell out for this one? OR is the title mis-leading me, and it is actually a nice blowing session? What are the highlights?

Lack of jazz? This has been a problem for years. I have learned to just throw on a cd, and not wait for radio stations to play any decent jazz, cuz they don't!

Well I don't have to worry about sorting different musical styles. All I got is jazz albums. But anyway, unless you're a DJ or someone that needs their cd's real quick, what's the point. So when your friends come over , they can say, "wow, u took the time to alphabetize all your cds?" Or you're hoping to be on Jazz Pads, and when you show, to the camera your cd collection, you want them to look neat?

OK, who made the longest song? I'd say either Ornett Coleman who had one full record, that consisted of one song, or JOhn Handy who had a 30 minute song, I forget the title.

I organize mine in years that they came out. But I play my cd's and records so often, it never lasts for long. By the end of the week, they'll be 1000 cd's all over the place, and I have to take the time to do it all over again.

HOw about the shortest? Some Miles Davis Quintet albums clock in at a tiny bit, 35 minutes, but the shortest one I have is Vince Guaraldi's Oh Good Grief, at 28 minutes.

I'm sorry, I was just commenting on (I believe it was Leeway?) who made fun of the Ripps, and Najee. I am not too into the Ripps, hence my quote. The Ripps are enjoying a successful career in the smooth jazz audience.

Now it's Jimmy Cobb vs. AT. AT was better i my opinion. Bill Evans wasn't too fond of Cobb, as he said that he played extremely loud and drowned out his band. AT never had a problem with this. Jimmy grew into a great drummer though. Can I choose who I LIKE better? No. They're both good.

AT as a musicians choice in the 50's, espcially for Prestige recordings. There's a reason for that.

If I were in their postition, and being myself, I wouldn't give him permission.

Easy big fella, next you'll be wondering why Najee and the one who's name must not be spoken weren't included. Perhaps you are pondering at KENNY G!!!!! LOL! Sorry, I just had to do that. You ever feel like you wanna deck that guy in the face?

Rippington's=smooth jazz which then =crap. Never dis Spyro Gyra! Especially their early stuff. Weather Report, either! I mentioned The Ripps all those cuz they weren't mentioned, but I mean I guess they deserve a place somewhere in jazz.

I'd say 30 years. They do a good job at 1960's avant garde, a little bit of Davis and the whole fusion thing, but no jazz rock like Weather Report, or modern groups like Spyro Gyra, and The Rippingtons.
