  1. I hate that thread!
  2. I go through that man. It sucks.
  3. Yeah. I don't think many people realized that Kay actually did play with Coltrane.
  4. Well you stick him in John Coltrane's group, he would of played heavier. He was very versatile. Catch some of his dates as a sideman, he even solos on Bags Meets Trane. It was because of the MJQ's style that he played the way he did.
  5. His last child was born in 2002?
  6. All Concords? So that means you can get all Joey De's recent albums and Pncho Sanches?!?! Count me in!!!! I dont need a sale for J&R, what I do need is some Joey De Francesco recommendations.
  7. Connie Kay has the sweetiest tone I have ever heard. It's so light. He knows how to really appreciate the drums. One of my favorites!
  8. My first jazz style guitar. I was looking really silly playing straight ahead jazz on a Fender strat. lol, it's beautiful.
  9. I am, but I didn't get into it that much just listening to samples.
  10. Joe, how's your Ibanez, I just bought one. I love it!
  11. I think he's very unique. I dont think Soul Stream is saying it's not unique, just that he didn't like it.
  12. just kidding, no you can't. Very good website!
  13. Seems like your average website of a jazz legends. Seems the only jazz musicians that have really modern and informative sites are new players. Nice site though, but I think I can find every single piece of info on that site, on line somewhere else...
  14. Who said no drummers can swing anymore? Nonsense. Pure, utter nonsense.
  15. I need some Kirk recommendations. I have been wanting to get Introducing Roland Kirk on Argo/Cadet. What are some of your favorites?
  16. You can do that?
  17. And what about Lex Humphries. He's on my favorite tune of all time!
  18. The 70's one sucked, this one probaly sucks. I don't go to the movies, nor watch much movies. Pass the wine.
  19. Here's why it's signed, annoynomous?
  20. Talking about drummers long ago, I love everyone (Philly Joe, Art, Max, Roy, etc.) except for maybe Louis Haynes. (He seems to be playing too loud on some of Cannonball's stuff. Dannie Richmond was stunning, BTW. As for current drummers, Marcus Baylor, Billy Martin, Roy Wooten, Steve Gadd, Dave Weckl, Peter Erksine, Danny Gotlieb, etc.
  21. Frank is my favorite crooner. Dean Martin has that perfect voice!
  22. John Scofield- A Go Go Bela Fleck & The Flecktones- Flight of the Cosmic Hippo George Benson- Bad Benson (anything but bad!!)
  23. Not really a fan of his voice.
