Some, not all. Do you have a turntable? ← Numerous ones. It's not so much the turntable, its the actual records. I have to check out my vinyl shop.

    There's no bassist?

Does this mean I'll have a tough time finding those 70's albums?

They sound very exciting. I can't wait to hear more.

"It seemed like the critics at the time looked upon us as not quite a jazz band. Our concept of bebop was quite different from all of the New Yorkers, the Detroit sound in that day. We always had a factor of rhythm and blues under the music. And it was very, very appealing to listeners. --Joe Sample
  7. I was really talking about The Best Of Kenny Burrell, though..

    I don't think they did.

Oh. Yeah, I thought you meant they turned into Parliament or something. lol

"Jazz" was pretty much out the window by then" Can you elaborate on this?

I know they changed their name from the Jazz Crusaders..?? I liked their later style. Their earlier, more straight ahead style seemed like nothing new, and too latin based. Or at least the album I heard. Where to start on their later material. What do you think?
  13. LZ 2, the greatest Zeppelin album of all, imo. Fine sound for me..
  14. Hadn't entered my mind. I bet there's one I can think of that no one will list. I'll just keep it secret 4 now.
  15. I've had that problem for months. Maybe it'll work for me now. I always seem to have the exact opposite situation of everyone else.
  16. Every artist has that one signature album. With Kenny, its that one!
  17. Oh no, where's Soul Stream.
  18. Are they currently with Blue Note?
  19. YOU STUPID ASS I CALLED LOU AND HE TOLD ME TO TELL YOU THAT (feel better, I tried to do my best Aric impersonation) How old was that dude? Anybody know?
  20. How long have they been with Blue Note?
  21. Martin was a big percussion man. He played percussion with Chuck Mangione from 1988-1991. Medeski has been a big influence. My band has gotten a bassist so I no longer do the bass lines by myself. With that, it leaves me to do various stuff with piano and more instruments. I was into Soulive, but too much R&B on their Next album, and they don't have too many albums out. Their first disk was tremendous.
  22. What do you remember about them live? How are they live?
  23. Yeah, I think it would be allright if he satisfied both handfuls of fans. Do some real jazz albums, then make a pop R&B album. You know, its most important what he wants to do.
  24. I think you gotta listen with an open mind. Me listening to them 2 years ago? I wouldn't like them for shit. But I'm more open now with jazz. I have a Blue Note sampler from 2002, wasn't much organ showcase. Some sound effects. I dug it, allright.
  25. Jim, you recommended them to me. I heard some samples, and I'm gettin jazzed about them! Got any certain albums to recommend?
