  1. Okay, I'll make one.
  2. But that's why they made discussion boards.
  3. I listen to that one to southe my soul.
  4. Why not just say this whole forum is a waste of time.
  5. I doubt its always the same. I suspect an album like Jimmy Smith, Legacy sells more than a new release of McCoy Tyner, but I'm not sure. I guess it has to do with its public promotion.
  6. I can't imagine a place like J&R to run out of specific album and not re-stock it right away, much less have more than one copy.
  7. I was born to this music. Never liked any other kind of music in my life.
  8. But its the way he says it.
  9. Clark Terry, yeah! Birk too!
  10. Of course! That's one more of my first musical experiences. The Hello Dolly album. That's some nostalgia for me!
  11. Nah. I wont have, me looking at Kenny g's cd's at J&R on my conscience. BTW, I saved the bag from J&R. I love that place!
  12. J&R in the old Downtown NYC! Second floor! Hell yeah!
  13. Let's add trumpeters to the list. At the present time, I'm digging: 1. Lee Morgan 2. Donald Byrd 3. Kenny Dorham 4. Miles 5. Art Farmer
  14. I'm so bad a stuff like this. I have no idea.
  15. Chuck, you're tiring. Who can take a thread like this and call it arrogant. Geeeeez. I just wanted to see what your favorite artists were, and to show everybody mine. I lost my respect for you way back, so I guess we're finally even.
  16. Well I'm dieing to hear a couple of albums: The Three Sounds (Here We Come) Booker T And The MG's (McClemore Avenue, Doing Our Thing) If in 20 years, I still don't have em, I'll report back.
  17. Maybe an old friend playing a trick.
  18. There are so many great saxophonists, to included them all would be impossible. I just listed my favorites.
  19. Does that mean I can't make the top five trumpet players?
  20. No, no. I'm just an old man doin' the old man thing: "Kids these days..." Seriously, just remarking about how Hank has grown in stature. He was once a forgotten/underrated player. Now, belatedly, he's getting some measure of his 'due'. Much of this seems to be the result of an active reissue program at Blue Note/Mosaic. As far as I'm concerned, right on. That's very true. My jazz education has come from mainly the past 10 years, so whenever I used to read that Mobley was underrated, I kind of was puzzled. Because every jazz fan I know, loves and respects him. I then learned what a tough time he had.
  21. I've had about 5 record players in my life. My most recent record player is a piece of shit. The band keeps falling off, and it slows down. I have to re-adjust the speed cordinator to get it right. Where the heck to you find needles? I havent had to change the stylus, but if I did, I'd probaly be screwed.
  22. what? It's very confusing.
