  1. Dude, we're outta money!!! We're having to sell OUR collections to buy YOURS!!!
  2. I hear you baby, loud and clear!
  3. It's the regular Nero used for burning CDrs. I used that "pan in" option for the Bill Evans with Gary McFarland session in the Evans box set. The stereo separation was way too wide (not a problem I often have) and the music sounded a lot better after I panned it in. I'll check that out. I haven't used Nero to burn CDrs before. Thanks for the tip.
  4. A sure sign of the apocalypse will be if she and Kenny G do an album of covers of Louis Armstrong & Ella Fitzgerald songs.
  5. U2 Boy and October re-issues Pink Floyd Piper at the Gates of Dawn 3-CD set
  6. Egad, can the Rangers season get any worse? Kinsler out (one of the better bats); pitching continues to get worse; lost 11 of their last 13 with no relief (pun sorta intended) in sight; ERA headed for the stratosphere.... Well, it was fun while it lasted. Back to reality again.
  7. I've said it before elsewhere in this forum and I'll say it again: when I die, I want this CD playing "Amazing Grace" at my funeral. If you haven't picked it up yet, get it NOW. It really is that good!
  8. Maybe an easier question would be: Are there any Stanley Turrentine sessions you DON'T like?
  9. Come on.... y'all are talking like you know what stuff sounds like inside Aric's brain....
  10. Yeah, IIRC, the OJC of Getz/Tjader didn't have the wide stereo separation the SACD has. As far as the Ellington goes, diff'rent strokes, diff'rent ears I guess.
  11. With the Getz/Tjader, it's the Fantasy Hybrid SACD CD-layer (how's that for Hoffmanese? ), the Ellington was the Legacy reissue.
  12. That picture was taken by Francis Wolf.
  13. Yeah! Quit yer bitchin'!!!! And yes, GO CUBS!!!
  14. I've tried that a couple times with the aforementioned Getz/Tjader and Ellington BLUES IN ORBIT discs. I didn't use Nero, but I did use GoldWave which has a fold-down option. In both cases, the stereo separation was so extreme that you could barely hear the solo instruments (Getz in the former case; Hodges in the latter). What's the Nero software you're talking about? Maybe that would be an improvement over GoldWave.
  15. You enjoyed CRYSTAL SKULL? Man, that was a huge letdown for me! My son and I still argue about the merits of this movie!
  16. Did I mention I hate you?
  17. Avast ye viruses and taste the tip of me bloody sweep! Couldn't resist.
  18. Hey, it is what it is. I smell another three-game sweep around the corner. ... So, do you ever feel like just giving up guessing what the Rangers will do??? Glad to see one of the 5 guys from the Tex trade (Harrison) is starting to pay off....I bet by the time all is said and done, it's going to look like that Boof Bonser, Francisco Liriano, and Joe Nathan for A.J. Pierzynski trade, I betya.... And wasn't it the "veteran ace" that Al hates who threw the shutout, or at least pitched shutout ball? I don't know of any one pitcher that I "hate." Maybe referring to Millwood? Yeah, I don't think he's any good, but I don't hate him. As far as Matt Harrison goes, I never heard of the guy before last night, and he pitched brilliant shut-out ball. But yeah, Berigan: just once I'd like to be right..... hey, wait a second.... Ahem.... THE RANGERS ARE NOT GOING TO FINISH IN FIRST PLACE THIS YEAR. NOT A CHANCE. NO WAY IN HELL.
  19. Drat! I can't believe I missed Stanley Turrentine's Z.T.'s Blues the first time around! Too much to process at one time, I guess. Well, I hope whoever got it enjoys it!
  20. "for the future" as in "more sequels" George?
  21. Since I'll eventually be seeing the latest Star Wars ripoff with my 12-year-old son who still loves all things Star Wars, I thought this was timely: http://movies.msn.com/movies/moviesfeature...-now/?GT1=28101
  22. There are fewer things in life as pleasurable as listening to Mister T ride a groove! (Great, here come the "I pity the fool..." jokes)
