  1. Oh yeah, this is a nice one!
  2. Oh yeah, and Jimmy Smith Groovin' at Smalls RVG for $5.99.
  3. I swear, OCD is gonna bankrupt me. This week's U2 remasters made me wanna hear their output from Achtung Baby thru Atomic Bomb (via Rhapsody), and so after work I picked up the following: Achtung Baby and Zooropa (used) War remaster for 19.99 from Best Buy, plus a rain check to pick up Boy and October for the same price when they get more in At some point, I know I'll pick up damn near everything else (except Rattle and Hum, have no use for that one) And this is after all the TOCJs & JRVGs I bought a couple weeks ago, helping Dan clear out his CDs.... I swear, this is a SICKNESS.
  4. Probably the funniest take on this I ever saw was this video, which I just happened to watch the other night when I was explaining to my son what the whole "Pine Tar Incident" was all about. Still just as funny!!!
  5. That'll be HUGE! DAMN!!! I'm gonna be in Chicago next week! How cool would that've been if the series was being played there instead of Brew-town? Maybe take a day trip up north.....
  6. A++++'s all around from me as well, as all four of my discs arrived quickly!
  7. Because he would've been able to hold on to the panties?
  8. My copy of Jazz Giants '58 came in the digipak.
  9. Our catcher/pitcher ratio is 10/1! I think they've been worrying so much about Hank Blalock's return (breaking news: Blalock sneezed! He's back on the 15-day DL again!) that they forgot about the other players.
  10. True 'nuff. ... I know that frustration of watching your team being unable to generate any offense consistently (a problem Big Al doesn't have to worry about). Consistent offense??? Hell, they scored a total of three runs against the Twins in their three-game series against them before heading to Chicago! But..... the way things are going, I'm willing to write off that series as a fluke, especially if they can continue to get the timely hitting like they did against the White Sox. As for the A's, I know the Rangers can identify with their predicament: for the longest time, it was always about next year. I can't help but think that Nolan Ryan came in and said "Enough of that shit. It's all about THIS year!" Wow..... 2nd place.... it's been a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time, and I'm gonna enjoy it while it lasts!
  11. I can just picture the scene in the Rangers front-office: Tom Hicks is salivating, Nolan Ryan and Jon Daniels are playing keep away with Hicks' cel phone... Also, as much as I hate seeing the Red Sox and/or Yankees on national TV, fact is Dan's right: they're a draw, they bring in the advertising dollars. End of story. When the Sox or the Yankees are here, Rangers attendance is through the roof. In fact, package deals or free tickets always come with the stipulation that they CANNOT be used for games when the Yankees or Red Sox are in town. That ain't no coincidence.
  12. "Funky Mama" from Lou Donaldson's The Natural Soul. Not the biggest LD fan, and I bought this because of Green-Patton-Dixon. LD & Tommy T shine and the Mighty Greaze Trio live up to their name as the groove on this is SO infectious!
  13. Alright! Glad it arrived safely! I have my own copy of Action TOCJ, and absolutely love the mastering! Same thing for RFF.
  14. FS/FT - Freddie Roach MO GREENS PLEASE (TOCJ w/OBI in plastic wrap, 1993 BN Works 4000) $20 plus $2 shipping for the first disc, and $1 for each disc thereafter with a maximum shipping charge of $10. Cash only, and you must deliver it to me personally with proper ID.
  15. I'll take Freddie Roach MO GREENS PLEASE, TOCJ only, must have jewel case and OBI. $10 shipped to me in protective bubble envelope, with an extra layer of bubble-wrap on the inside.
  16. Can't go wrong with Peter Washington & Al Foster. May have to seek this one out!
  17. Does ARTIST TITLE PRICE come with a jewel case, and is it the TOCJ or the JRVG? Seriously, though, that's a good price for the Rollins box and some great music there. Hope somebody grabs it soon!
  18. Well, so much for that: www.scatjazzlounge.com
  19. Man, if I could get Hubbard to sign my dad's Blakey MOSAIC album this weekend and Fuller to sign it when he's here, all I'd be missing from the front line would be Wayne Shorter! Man, I am SO looking forward to these shows! Al
  20. FINAL PRICE REDUCTION!!! ALL JRVGs $12!!! EVERYTHING MUST GO!!! No jewel cases, obviously!
  21. Listened to Gravy Train and that's pretty much confirmed that I can live without the Donaldson. Gravy Train is ultra lame. Well, I listened to the tracks at the Mosaic site, and I'm inclined to agree with you. I would like to get my hands on the sessions with Horace Parlan (already have "Sunny Side Up"), but not willing to pay THAT much to get three albums. Also listened to the Hackett. I think my wallet is safe from that one as well.
  22. Is it the TOCJ or the JRVG?
  23. Up with addition of two Dizzy Reece TOCJ's
  24. Crud. I hadn't planned on ordering that Hackett box, but then I followed that link..... Still haven't pulled the trigger, but reading that page is making it more difficult not to!
  25. All JRVGs marked down to $15! Gotta pay for that Mosaic sale somehow!
