  2. The board has always had some influence on my buying, but having decided some time ago to cut back (way back) on my habit of spending too much on music, that influence has diminished somewhat. The other influence which has always been important (and remains so) is the way I'm reminded to listen to things I already own, and sometimes with greater appreciation than I had in the past. I don't know why I should need a stimulus like this to avoid neglecting various portions of my music collection, but for some reason it makes a big difference to me to be reminded of what I have.

  8. Okay... that one worked perfectly (with no error message), and is also indicated normally on the TAT page. So, NEVER MIND. (hopefully I'm out of the proverbial woods)...
  9. Jim, sorry- I replied to your post a few hours ago, but my post didn't go through (got an error message, which I've gotten with every post I've submitted this morning). I had to leave for awhile, but I just returned and realized that my new e-mail address (which I entered a few weeks ago) was no longer showing up as having been updated. Not sure if this was causing any of my problems, but just thought I'd mention it. Okay, each time I posted this morning, rather than being taken back to the thread I was posting to, I got a "Safari can't connect to this server" type of error message. Despite this, my first couple of posts appeared normally when I returned to the board (which I was able to do quickly and effortlessly after getting the error message), but didn't show up on the Today's Active Topics page (those threads didn't move up on the TAT page, and the previous poster's name still showed as the last person to post to those threads). Then, right before I had to leave, I was posting a response here to your question, and not only did I get the same error message, but that post did not go through (was not there when I returned to this thread). So, I'm posting here again to see what happens...

  11. I've posted once since the board came back up, and something slightly odd happened. My post appears on the thread where I posted (2006 World Cup...), but on the "Today's Active Topics" page, it doesn't show that I added to that thread (still shows the previous post by brownie as the most recent). I tried refreshing the page, but it's still not showing the update (the rest of the topics appear to be updating normally). ???

  25. What team led the league this year in most losses (14) in games decided by 3 points or less? The Golden State Warriors. Who got into a tight game in their final game of the season last night? Golden State Warriors (vs Utah). The Warriors suited up only 8 players last night, and the rookies got a lot of minutes. The young guys (especially Ike Diogu and Monta Ellis) played their butts off and kept the W's in the game. With Utah up by 2 and taking over possession with about 35 seconds left in the game, Montgomery (and probably the whole coaching staff) as well as Mike Dunleavy (who was on the floor at the time) told the players: DON'T FOUL. Play solid defense, and maybe we have time for a final shot if we get a stop. Utah brings the ball upcourt, and within seconds of crossing halfcourt, which Warrior player makes like a complete bonehead play and (seemingly intentionally) fouls the Utah player with the ball? No, not one of the rookies. A veteran- DEREK FISHER!! We lose by 3 again. Television announcers Bob Fitzgerald and Jim Barnett respond with a mixture of disbelief, stifled laughter, and disgust... "You CAN'T foul in that situation" (as if spoken to a child who has misbehaved). This perfectly encapsulates the Warriors' season (the same exact thing has happened more than once before). WTF? Ahhh well... "maybe next year" (not sure I'm going to have the stomach for it, though).
