Blue Note Collectible Items

bump with price reduction..... $50 w/shipping for framed flat. A flat by the way is a medium stock cardboard unit designed to be displayed in retail locations. They are LP sized, go figure. If you don't want the frame I can ship flat in extra-heavy cardboard for $35. Lots of reminiscing but no interest in the watch. What could be cooler than your love of jazz boldly emblazoned on the time-piece that adorns your wrist? If only I wore a watch..... -

Beatles Mono Masters set for sale

If you payed by credit card through paypal, you can initiate a claim with the credit card company. That's indeed an option if you paid by credit card through PayPal and your claim isn't honoured by PayPal, but I've read somewhere (don't remember where exactly) that PayPal may close your account if you do that. So far paypal seems to be working on a claim on my behalf. My hope is that perhaps they can help me out. The transaction history includes the seller's name, and PO Box address in Texas. If they have any current paypal activity then perhaps I have a shot. Otherwise maybe I'll follow up with my CC Co. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the tip! Well after a year the consensus is that you are SOL. Paypal contacted the seller on my behalf, but got no response and also informed me that they had no real ability after fifteen months to do anything binding. My credit card company also said that there limit is 119 days or in a best case scenario 120. As previously stated, I wasn't/am not unhappy with the sound of the set, but damnit it's a counterfeit. Seven or eight of the discs (all the early ones) are still sealed. Anyone want to buy a counterfeit Beatles box real cheap? -

This thread prompted me to check my Stereo set and it turns out that I too purchased a counterfeit set on ebay. I purchased it 12/09 and was unaware that there was a problem so I didn't give it a thought. I haven't listened to all of the discs, but from Rubber Soul and Revolver on sounded good to my ears. Paypal let me initiate a claim, although I don't expect anything to come of it. As for ebay, after 45 days your SOL as far as they're concerned. My seller is no longer a registered user, but maybe he maintains an active paypal account. Live and learn..... -

still waiting here in NY.....sure would be nice to have to listen to during the one-two snowstorm punch headed our way..... Made it yesterday. Mine was packaged in an oversized box with some extra cardboard and air cushioning. But I'm confused. Is this the "desired" Japanese set? The CDs all have OBIs and the sleeves say they are manufactured in Japan. I listened quickly to Zep 1 on a small stereo in the kitchen and it sounded very detailed. I heard John Bonham in a new way. I know there was some discussion about the difference in mastering.

Box bargain available again! Thanks! I punched it this time. Last time I ordered a new CD from Newbury fulfilled by Amazon it came with a drill hole, which is highly unusual for Newbury. Hopefully, I won't have to go through the return process again. I picked this up with the last notification and it DID come with the hole in the jewel case. That doesn't bother me though.....

Ellington 1930s big-band Mosaic

Set #12 arrived yesterday. That's my lowest number ever. I think my Gerald Wilson is in the 20s or 30s. Looking forward to digging in. -
I heard there are loads of counterfeits too which tend to be priced on the low side. Yes, lots of those are around, unfortunately. Caveat emptor on the low price deals. Buy from reputable sellers only. Would you be able to tell if you ended up with a bootleg set? Are the differences or lack of quality from a sound or manufacturing standpoint that obvious?

I'm not sure what you mean in terms of "silver type" print photos. These are on a heavy stock photo paper. I'm not sure of their backstory in terms of the technology used to make them. This is the "original" photo I received, it is not a photocopy or something that I generated from a digital source. Hope this helps.
