  11. Bump..... As FZ was known to say, the response to this auction "wasn't particularly gratifying." So I'd like to make available the unsold photos for 1/2 of what I was asking for them (still with free US shipping). The only thing that I ask is that you buy two pictures to sweeten the deal from my end. To see the pictures please go to my photo auction page- go to "buying formats" click on "choose more" and then select "completed listings." Please pm or email through organissimo and we can work out the particulars. Also, if you're interested in any of the current photo listings, I'll end the auction and sell them at 50% off too (as long as there aren't any bids....which doesn't seem likely!) Thanks!!

  14. Perhaps I should have put this in the for sale category...oops. Could a moderator move it? Thanks and sorry.
  15. Grachan Moncur III, Mosaic Select #1. Brand new and sealed. $55. Paypal preferred. Please PM if interested. Thanks.
  16. What an informative site, thanks! After the bumper crop of acorns the past few years, perhaps they're just cooling their jets for another season. Works for me. Based on what you all are saying, I'll have to keep a clos eye on the squirrels as their ranks thin both figuratively and literally.
  17. I was just out working in the yard here in upstate New York and it dawned on me that there aren't any acorns this year. My yard has a few massive oaks and I literally have bushels full each year. I don't miss them because it made raking easier, but it is sure to have implications with our extensive populations of squirrels with there being a potential for a ripple effect through the ecosystem/food chain. What caused this and what does it mean....I googled it and didn't come up with anything definitive. Any ideas?
  18. PM sent on Masqualero titles
  19. I had the Marantz CD changer and had nothing but problems with the electronics- Error messages that took days to reset. Sent it out for warranty repair to no avail. I replaced it with the Yamaha CD-C600 changer and I'm very pleased. Ironically I replaced a 14 year old Yamaha changer with the Marantz. I gave it to a friend who continues to use it everyday. Crutchfield is great. You can likely find a discount coupon online, shipping is free and there is no sales tax. I landed mine for just under $300. I like that this CD player has a USB direct port that allows my iPod to connect and then it bypasses the Apple signal processor and uses the CD player's Burr-Brown 192kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter. I've been very pleased with its functionality and sound. As a side note, I did try a multi-disc DVD player, but I found the shuffle to be very slow, which was problematic because I enjoy loading the changer and letting it shuffle through discs for me. Here is a link Yamaha CD-C600
  20. I haven't seen this one listed yet.... A Secret Labyrinth: A Celebration of Music From the Middle Ages to the Renaissance
  21. I'm about six shows (18 or so CDs) into this set and all I can say is "WOW!" As a casual listener of the Dead, I've come to determine the early '70s is my favorite era and '72 has always jumped out. Stellar set lists and a band at the height of their powers. 22 shows over 73 CDs would certainly be overkill for most groups but not the GD. The extended "Dark Stars" really speak to their ability to take things to the edge, something that really appeals to my jazz sensibilities. Absorbing this will be a project that will certainly stretch into 2012.
  22. Try as I might, I've never really warmed up to piano trios. I went through a Warren Bernhardt phase about 20 years ago, but all of the "great" ones (and I've tried 'em all) just fail to float my boat. Such is the subjective nature of appreciating music/art.....
  23. I just received their August newsletter email.
