I have available the following books for sale. All are in very good/excellent condition (and as noted) Blue Note "The Album Cover Art" (ISBN 0-8118-0036-9) $20 Blue Note 2 "The Album Cover Art" (ISBN 0-8118-1853-5) $30 (a quarter sized area on the lower back of the rear cover where I must have peeled off a sticker) California Cool "West Coast Jazz of the 50s & 60s- The Album Cover Art" (ISBN 0-8118-0275-2) $40 New York Hot "The Album Cover Art" (ISBN 0-8118-0416-x) $15 (2 small areas on back or rear cover where plastic film is beginning to separate from the cover) All these books have nice tight bindings. They've been sitting flat for years, browsed briefly years ago, untouched since. All prices include shipping and are based on current amazon reseller prices. I'd prefer to sell them as a set, all four for $75, which will include media mail postage to US addresses. International inquiries welcome, but shipping will be extra and at cost. Thanks!

Mosaic Sets for Sale
greggery peccary replied to greggery peccary's topic in Offering and Looking For...
Hey, what's the point of being a moderator if you don't get to f--- people up from time to time? Seriously -- I may have overstepped the bounds on this one. If so, I'm sorry; I'm certainly not perfect. I amassed these sets in numerous ways through the years- more often than not my wallet opened to do so. I'm a collector/bargain hunter like so many others here. I was very fortunate to have been able to work with Mosaic over the years. It was not without a great deal of consideration that I finally decided to sell some promos. To the moderators- your question was fair and I felt my response was sufficient. I apologize for not having thicker skin and subsequently lashing out. -

My answering of the question may have been reluctant, but your predisposition to something "being fishy" would have to be a factor in seeing it as hostile. You're right, I don't have to do business here and I won't. Your heavy-handed moderation is enough to keep me from offering items of interest at fair prices to fellow jazz aficionados. There are plenty of other places to sell where one won't get hassled. -
Mosaic Sets for Sale

Please answer this seemingly reasonable question, Mr. Peccary. Failure to do so makes one suspicious. Suspicious? You're killing me. I spent many years as a journalist and collector. Moving along some sets that I don't/haven't listened to in order to get a Martin guitar. Something that I will enjoy on a much more regular basis. So you were sent these sets by Mosaic in the expectation/hope that, as a journalist, you would review/write about them? If my figures are correct, thirty-one of the thirty-eight sets you are offering for sale here are SEALED. You worrying about MY business is really something else. By your calculation, how many of these sets are promos? Are you aware of how many sets I may have acquired multiple copies of? Do you know how many sets I actually covered and reciprocated Mosaic's support with ink? Did you know that early on review copies were SOLD at a discount, not given free? Do you know how many, and which sets I still have (and GASP!!) may wish to sell at a later date because they're mine and it is MY RIGHT and MY BUSINESS to do so? I'd by happy to send you my credit card bills so that you can get your nose further/fully involved with what I do. -

crap, you beat me! I wonder, what does "promo" mean? Any difference from the regular boxes? "Promo" sets are full sets. The only difference is that instead of being numbered the word "promo" is written. -
both packages sent first class w/delivery confirmation. thanks!

Blue Note Collectible Items

bump with price reduction..... $50 w/shipping for framed flat. A flat by the way is a medium stock cardboard unit designed to be displayed in retail locations. They are LP sized, go figure. If you don't want the frame I can ship flat in extra-heavy cardboard for $35. Lots of reminiscing but no interest in the watch. What could be cooler than your love of jazz boldly emblazoned on the time-piece that adorns your wrist? If only I wore a watch..... -

Beatles Mono Masters set for sale

If you payed by credit card through paypal, you can initiate a claim with the credit card company. That's indeed an option if you paid by credit card through PayPal and your claim isn't honoured by PayPal, but I've read somewhere (don't remember where exactly) that PayPal may close your account if you do that. So far paypal seems to be working on a claim on my behalf. My hope is that perhaps they can help me out. The transaction history includes the seller's name, and PO Box address in Texas. If they have any current paypal activity then perhaps I have a shot. Otherwise maybe I'll follow up with my CC Co. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks for the tip! Well after a year the consensus is that you are SOL. Paypal contacted the seller on my behalf, but got no response and also informed me that they had no real ability after fifteen months to do anything binding. My credit card company also said that there limit is 119 days or in a best case scenario 120. As previously stated, I wasn't/am not unhappy with the sound of the set, but damnit it's a counterfeit. Seven or eight of the discs (all the early ones) are still sealed. Anyone want to buy a counterfeit Beatles box real cheap? -

This thread prompted me to check my Stereo set and it turns out that I too purchased a counterfeit set on ebay. I purchased it 12/09 and was unaware that there was a problem so I didn't give it a thought. I haven't listened to all of the discs, but from Rubber Soul and Revolver on sounded good to my ears. Paypal let me initiate a claim, although I don't expect anything to come of it. As for ebay, after 45 days your SOL as far as they're concerned. My seller is no longer a registered user, but maybe he maintains an active paypal account. Live and learn..... -
CDs for sale - FMP, Silkheart, Splasch

PM sent on Jason Robinson, Trilok Gurtu, and Reid Anderson. -
still waiting here in NY.....sure would be nice to have to listen to during the one-two snowstorm punch headed our way..... Made it yesterday. Mine was packaged in an oversized box with some extra cardboard and air cushioning. But I'm confused. Is this the "desired" Japanese set? The CDs all have OBIs and the sleeves say they are manufactured in Japan. I listened quickly to Zep 1 on a small stereo in the kitchen and it sounded very detailed. I heard John Bonham in a new way. I know there was some discussion about the difference in mastering.
