  1. Which board member(s) are you referring to? I've only sold one set (Blakey) on ebay... can't be me! B-)
  2. I wonder if the RVG will make that beer bottle falling over louder or softer on his remater of this date. Later, Kevin Less than a minute into 'Uncle Sam Blues' on Hot Tuna's 'live' acoustic LP, there's a beer bottle nailing the floor and breaking. I've always loved that! This truly is a wonderous recording.....I can't imagine anyone ever being able to improve the 'quality' through a re-mastering. Actually, is this even on cd? If so, it would be interesting to know if they tried to filter out the bottle. EDIT: I actually just answered my own question. The Hot Tuna has been remastered and if you listen to the soundclip over at CD Universe the bottle is still there, loud as can be!
  3. Yeah, an original Twinkie with Coolidge's face on it that was handed out to kids as a souvenir at the 1925 Inaugural Parade!
  4. Wait 'til Fall and then go for E) Pepper & Pacific Jazz Trio Selects
  5. Hey, imagine if it was a Twinkie with a face on it? She could just leave it out on a table for 60 or 70 years and use it as a bookend and there wouldn't be any noticeable change.
  6. Interesting. I'd have to admit to being totally in the dark on this as well. I hear the name George Duke.....I think Zappa. So how's this LP? Does it pre-date the other 'Jazz Workshop' one, also w/Heard?
  7. Live dangerously......get the Japanese 2-cd jobber w/all the alt. takes and be done with it. Don't make Brad mad. I wonder how long disc 9 on that forthcoming Stones "Singles 1968-71" box set will be? DISC 9: 1. Sympathy For The Devil 2. Sympathy For The Devil 3. Sympathy For The Devil 4. Sympathy For The Devil
  8. The sight of that has me weeping with joy. Were I not a strong man, I might buckle under and decide to trade you my one-of-a-kind AfricaBrass deluxe waffle with image of Jesus sitting next to Horace Silver on a park bench for it.
  9. The word that would accurately sum up my total admiration for the man and his talent for coaxing earthly wonders out of a simple spice-infused hunk of dough, has yet to be invented!!!
  10. What a shocking coincidence!!! I was just making another grilled cheese sandwich and I think I can make out Dr. Smith and the robot. Wow! You're a regular phenom when it comes to plucking these mystical oddities from the frying pan! I heard that the most highly sought after piece of 'art' by eBay cheesenutcasewichworld collecters is....
  11. <<<Ellis >>> Nice!
  12. If you find a 'Lost In Space' one I'll pay anything!!!
  13. The shocker of all shockers is that I collect beer glasses from europe. I'm up in the 200 range or so but fast running out of shelf space. The gold-rimmed glasses are the ones I'm usually interested in but they're not as plentiful as they once were. I've been known to trade jazz cds in exchange for nice gold-rimmed ones that I don't have. PM if interested. B-)
  14. I tried......but I still can't comprehend the thrust of Chris's idle musings.
  15. The thought of listening to a series of back-to-back alts totally some 12.3 minutes, while perusing the newspaper and sipping a brew, is Heaven on Earth compared to watching 10 identical Ford, Chevy & Coors ultra-ultra-ultra-ultra-ultra-ultra lite ads crammed into a NFL game.
  16. Well, just be careful what you say in this open forum lest he get all yanked off over it.
  17. Well that might be a bit difficult to pull off.....but that's not to say that he couldn't ooze into a PM or political party chair slot in any number of prime locations in Africa, So. Europe or the Transcaucuses.
  18. What a lovely little fairy book tale about a despicable low life reinventing himself.
  19. I only have the old vinyl lying around but might break down and pick up that Let it Bleed SACD to see what magic they've worked on my numero uno Stones favorite, 'Monkey Man'.
  20. The whole Barbie as gift thing for young children is interesting. Most small children really don't have the manual dexterity required to easily manipulate some of the maddeningly small Barbie items let alone properly 'work' some of the tight shoes, boots, pants, etc. As a result, most kids get terribly frustrated....which is why zillions of nude dolls are strewn across playroom floors coast-to-coast! Adults who should know better (I've been guilty of this as well) buy these things by the boatload and it's the rare 2 or 3-year-old party that doesn't have 'Barbie' popping out of every other gift bag. Reason: they're cute....and it's easy. Most parents who've been running ragged all week and are veterans of the B'Day party circuit just want to reach for something that's a safe bet and get on with the rest of the weekend. IMO kids start giving/receiving Barbie way too early....it should start up around age 5......or even 6.
  21. The Japanese set is loaded with tracks. It's not an easy one to nail down these days. Here's a back cover scan.
  22. I hope you had him remove all the buffers first? B-)
  23. Oh yes, I remember on an old BNBB thread that, unbeknowst to one another, we were both inside 'Pooh's Pub' the night the news broke about Lennon being shot? I was at the bar. That was you, correct?
  24. It's a clean theme..... golf caddie (rake & clean traps) golf pro-shop (clean clubs) veterinary clinic (clean wounds) landscape service (clean underbrush) busboy (clean tables) chemical company (clean dirty toxic barrels) office cleaning company (clean ashtrays & toilets) leather tannery (clean & tan hides) antique store (clean & deliver furniture) U.S. House of Representatives (clean up members 'messes') U.S. Senate (same) stay-at-home dad (clean house) govt. consultant (clean up! $$$ )
