Not really. The actual JRVGs are: 9001-9251.....9361-9371......9501-9590. With some exceptions ("Talkin & Walkin', "Coltrane Time", "Bird's Eye View" "Modern Art", etc) the rest are all McMasters and were not Lion-produced Blue Note sessions. Suppose I could have called it the 'Toshiba Mini-Lp Collection'?

Yeah, the Wash. Post ran some piece a few days ago that had some Santas pulling in $30K for a one month tour of mall duty (10-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week). That's alota TOCJs.

I always thought that it was the label (top) side of the disc that you wanted to keep scratch free......however, I accidentally put a hideous looking gouge in the top of an LD CD-R the other night and it still played fine. Toward the center of the disc it was.

The 'Live at The Rat' 2-fer (Rat Records) from '76 with DMZ doing 'Boy From Nowhere" and 'Ball Me Out'....and The Real Kids "Who Needs You" & "Better Be Good'.

Used to catch them all down Kenmore Square at The Rat. Some great memories in that place...you ever go? That Real Kids guitarist (Billy) was a serious wild man and a waste case to boot. I think the last time I saw those boys, they got into some wild beer pitcher swinging melee with a couple of nitwits in the front who'd tossed a little suds their way. You know who produced the DMZ lp? Flo & Eddie. Long live 'Cinderella' and 'Don't Jump me Mother' are personal favs. Mono Mann should still love me....I was the only guy south of the Mason-Dixon line who ever spun his LP (religiously) on air!

One reviewer said that he drops the tenor on the last track and proceeds to basically butcher some Ornette composition with a saxello. Is it really that bad? Apart from that, the review makes this out to be a pretty good LP (w/Flanagan, A.T.).

That part doesn't make sense. Has a company like that ever produced a run of less than a few dozen cars with a certain color scheme?...or even 100? Heck, I think I had one of those back in the 70's and wound up putting it on the train tracks near my house just to see it get flattened like a quarter.

I was looking around for some info on that upcoming 'Jazztet' release and found a site that said that Curtis Fuller abruptly bolted the band -- without giving notice -- after a performance at the Brooklyn Paramount theater (in '60?). Must have been an interesting little spat. Anyone heard the 'Big City Sound' vinyl? Worth picking up this new cd?
