  1. Oops, sorry. Now go call Tarantino back and get the final word on that Evans Vanguard box!!
  2. Really? Well, since I already own every single JRVG, what am I to do? Should I buy duplicates of some titles rather than risk getting tagged as a 'poser'? Such a quandary. I'd go for one as well but the problem is that euro sizes tend to be cut a tad smaller than US and these guys don't offer an XXL. I like 'em big and normally wear an XL but there's always going to be some shrinkage (I don't care what they say!) and who knows what the XL would look like after a few wash & dries? Looks like they offer up XXL for Dylan & Richards...so maybe they can spit out a larger one?
  3. #4398 recently arrived at an address in Falls Church, VA..........is this set flying off the shelves?
  4. I've always called you Pat.
  5. I heard that the 1626 limb of his rather extensive family tree contains a certain Mr. Minuit! So you can blame him for that as well!
  6. Hey, how come the yurpeans are never in on these discussions about wild sexcapades and deep dark secrets? They're much cagier than we are.......better trained.
  7. I'ld get real worried if a cop asked me the same question ....even more so if you glanced up and saw that his badge said Officer Wolff !
  8. No way!!! We've been playing by trade 'rules' that were more suited to the immediate post-WWII era and our ever cautious weenies at the State Dept. have helped keep us in 'chains'......now it's time to go to work & squeeze the pip, mate! Oh, sorry....you were referring to rivalry on this board.
  9. I got stopped by the cops last night in DC and the first thing I asked him was 'are you a jew?' Doesn't everyone do that?
  10. I just sent another board member a PM mentioning a DVD ('A Very British Coup') the wife & I watched last night. Maybe you can show that one on the first day of class and get 'em all ginned up? I'll be the large, slightly hunched over kid sitting in the back row of the classroom with the Bob Dole mask on .....keeping an eye on you and demanding that you have the class read "Atlas Shrugged.'
  11. Really depends where you're located. So. Ca is going to have a different dress code than DC but you can't go wrong with a suit. If you're talking about a conservative 80's tie, you're referring to the classic looking striped rep tie a la Brooks Brothers, yes? Sure, that still works...but don't go nutso with the stripes on stripes combo....best to go with a solid color Oxford shirt. Then again, out there on the left coast, you might do better with this one! I'd be shot on sight wearing it! Maybe Orin Hatch could get away with it.
  12. He needs that blue shirt that's up in 6 hours or else he's toast!!!! Actually, if MD's up for a high school teaching position, the correct spelling of 'recommendations' might be more important than the shirt & tie combo.
  13. I really don't know what you can afford to drop, but I'm inclined to side with BB on the Nordstom's rack advice. I'm big on the Faconnable line that is now owned by Nordstroms -- their shirts are quite fashionable and well made. Ditto for their slacks. The shirts typically will set you back $80-$150 but you can find some decent summer deals and I wouldn't hesitate to pick up a few on eBay.....I've done this myself a half-dozen times and been quite pleased with the product. Just make sure that the seller has been dry cleaning them. Like buying music, you want to zero in on sellers that tend to deal exclusively with clothing...not selling aquariums, motorcycle parts & sausage making equipment as well. There a number in the XXL category that are up for sale right now and I don't think you can go wrong. http://search.ebay.com/faconnable In fact, the salmon one is up in an hour: http://cgi.ebay.com/FACONNABLE-100-COTTON-...1QQcmdZViewItem ..and there's this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/MENS-FACONNABLE-LONG-S...1QQcmdZViewItem (and this seller has several.....you could load up!) You can also pick up some excellent Italian ties (Ermenegildo Zegna, Ferragamo, etc) for an excellent price. I was hesitant to buy used clothes on ebay...but I've been pleasantly surprised.
  14. No, he's mad that you EU dudes won't give up your FN !!!!!!!!!
  15. Meet me in live chat in an hour.....I have something to discuss with you.
  16. No. You can't have the 2 options available...because most will -- out of habit -- gravitate to the 'established' forum below. I understand that I can send Ghost and Chris PMs and say 'let's meet in live chat at 10 pm'.....but the whole point of this was that if one wanted to curb the cursing, etc...you'd have but one type of environment.........one fishbowl.
  17. You can't do that......most of those going there now don't not want to yammer on about that stuff.
  18. Um, yeah....I was in there the other night. ...been in there with YOU too...remember? I mean having a similar set-up where, for example, the political forum is structured as a 'live' only forum rather than what we now have. Comprende?
  19. If certain areas of the board were set up to function as a 'live' chat room, I doubt that people would go off the rails. There's a different dynamic at work when you're in that environment. Actually, would it be possible to experiment with something like that, or is it technically too difficult? For folks who like to post lots of articles and so, I suppose that it would be difficult to navigate a 'live' room.........but it would be a hoot! Much more enjoyable to see how people think on their feet rather than have them duck away to spend an hour or two researching the various this & that(s) of a particular subject on Google so that they can return with a 'weighty' rebuttal. Chris vs. Conrad in 'Live' political chat - tonite! ........or perhaps we'll kick it off with Chris vs. Jerry in 'Live' chat.
  20. Nice that you've added "Do not settle for fake Russian/Finnish, etc. copies far from the master tapes" to the item descr. Guess alot of sellers have taken to running with a similar sounding warning. Good....those trolls need to be run out of business.
  21. Saw this pop-up on eBay. Despite the fact that Schildkraut & Joe Wilder are on board, I find myself always fast forwarding through most of the first larger group session ('Basically Duke') in order to get to 'Happy Minor' (tracks 7-13) w/Mitchell/Sims/Brookmeyer/Candoli/Williamson/Levey. Anyone else? I wish Bethlehem would just reissue the Mitchell as a stand alone disc...they just don't pair up well imo. Maybe it's out as an LP in Japan? http://cgi.ebay.com/RED-MITCHELL-HAPPY-MIN...1QQcmdZViewItem
  22. A descriptive term that pops-up with amazing frequency on many boards..........sounds fancier than 'tiring' but actually means what? You start to twitch? Feel exhausted and in need of a Red Bull after 3 tracks? You get cranky and yell at your wife? what? Chewy wants to know!!!
  23. So? What if it's the guy who's getting what should be your Soultrane? Don't you want his order delayed a bit?
  24. Okay, so I've been a bit of a squeaky wheel on this. Save the oil and pass me a few drops of Sancerre rosé instead!
  25. Bill Nelson's Rednoise 'Sound-on-Sound' (Harvest)
