  4. MJQ version is a favourite in this house
  5. Knocked out today by the Sophie Taeuber-Arp currently at Tate Modern. What a fantastically adept artist she was across so many disciplines. Tate Modern has done good work recently highlighting significant female artists who have often been overshadowed by their husbands and probably because of their multi-disciplinary approach to the 'Applied Arts' - Sonia Delauney, Anni Albers and now this show. each one a revelatory exhibition in its own right. And yesterday, it was good to acquaint myself with the paintings of Jennifer Packer on our annual trip to see the Serpentine's Summer Pavilion.
  6. I forgot that this is very largely all unreleased so you can't go and hunt down the individual albums, probably good for the bank balance
  7. And lots of drizzle as per earlier them in this thread. Seemed worth the trip across Checkpoint Charlie
  8. Just bought this one I have a few Amigas already so will be interested to sample some more
  9. Thank you. imaginatively titled sequel. Now to find it!
  10. Do you recall what the second one is called. I know I have it somewhere on CD but for the life of me...
  11. I'd completely forgotten this great compilation until I found it tidying the shelves yesterday. Fits squarely into this discussion I think https://www.discogs.com/Various-Forum-West-Modern-Jazz-From-West-Germany-1962-1968/master/56212 I also think there was a companion volume but I didn't find that, more tidying required obviously
  12. Not just a label, very much an institution amongst London's record shops
  13. Guess you need to ask Soul Brother. Easy enough to find online
  14. Fairhall is a talent I like that one, not sure it's as good as the last one yet
  15. A long stroll down memory lane. Loved this this afternoon
  16. Carly Simon Jack Johnson
  17. Angry Anderson Jimmy Anderson The Burnley Lara
  18. Going for a shot of this I always think that the cover has a hint of Diebenkorn to it, just a hint
  19. Sorry, I obviously didn't read your post closely enough. Thanks for the YouTube. I need some Zen right now
  20. Jack Benny Green Gartside
  21. I don't have 'Rings'. I wasn't sure about 2 LPs of solo percussion. Would you recommend it? Meanwhile I'm onto these two by him. Both very good indeed and different to 'Spiritual Nature'
  22. Brian Cant King Cnut Nigel Farage
  23. Harold Godwinson William The Bastard Nigel Farage
  24. Prescribed on the NHS, I trust I saw Sanborn in a ridiculously rammed Town&Country Club God alone knows when, he was supported by The Brand New Heavies and I suspect at least half the crowd were there for them. Great gig. 'Hideaway' was one of my very earliest 'Jazz' purchases prompted by his work on 'Young Americans'
