Swoon was an absolute masterpiece, still remember buying it with much excitement. Set the stall out early for the genius that is Paddy McAloon You're Bloody well right with that one Complete classic from the cover to the last note -

Joe Harriott Quintet - Free Form [Jazzland, 1961, mono] Thanks to @sidewinder for the nudge, made it across the Atlantic surprisingly swiftly. Sounding lovely

Really good album but I always wonder what was the cover designer thinking?! I quite like the idea of the two trios being the same, George Lewis plays rockabilly!

they sound like their covers, definitely

Dick Grove Orchestra - Little Bird Suite [Pacific Jazz, 1963 mono] such a good record. Mine's too crackly, replacement just ordered.

I don't know the Lowe but my favourite Scotts are all from a bit later so maybe don't bear much relevance to your search. I'll be interested to see what folk recommend too. FWIW here's my three

I'd give her the first five or six up to and including 'Pop Pop'. A couple of later ones too but it became very patchy for me

Found it on Spotify. Very much enjoyed it.

Knocked out today by the Sophie Taeuber-Arp currently at Tate Modern. What a fantastically adept artist she was across so many disciplines. Tate Modern has done good work recently highlighting significant female artists who have often been overshadowed by their husbands and probably because of their multi-disciplinary approach to the 'Applied Arts' - Sonia Delauney, Anni Albers and now this show. each one a revelatory exhibition in its own right. And yesterday, it was good to acquaint myself with the paintings of Jennifer Packer on our annual trip to see the Serpentine's Summer Pavilion. -
I forgot that this is very largely all unreleased so you can't go and hunt down the individual albums, probably good for the bank balance
-
And lots of drizzle as per earlier them in this thread. Seemed worth the trip across Checkpoint Charlie

I'd completely forgotten this great compilation until I found it tidying the shelves yesterday. Fits squarely into this discussion I think https://www.discogs.com/Various-Forum-West-Modern-Jazz-From-West-Germany-1962-1968/master/56212 I also think there was a companion volume but I didn't find that, more tidying required obviously
