  1. Floating Points, Pharoah Sanders, LSO - Promises [Luaka Bop, 2021] I know this splits opinion, especially amongst the Jazz cognoscenti, but it works for me every time. Definitely not a Jazz album though.
  2. Pep Guardiola Harry Kane Cain & Abel
  3. I didn't realise that, don't know how I missed it either. Thanks for mentioning it. The 'New York Collage' goes for far more than the other LPs the last time I looked into it My 'Passing Ships' LP is faultless and sounds great compared to the CD (but my TT is probably of higher quality than my CD player nowadays). So I guess if you're lucky in the Tone Poet lottery it's worth a go Praed Orchestra - Live In Sharjah [Morphine Records, 2020]
  4. Patience, patience, patience Just imagine how good it will be when it finally arrives!
  5. My favourite is the one with John Lindberg. Great playing from both on that. The one with Tyler is more austere than I had imagined but that's only after two listens. He plays on a couple of the Black Saint albums iirc
  6. Iggy Ziggy Piggy
  7. Billy Bang & Charles Tyler - Live at Green Space [Anima, 1982] Bang's Anima releases would make a great boxset
  8. Sounds great so far, definite improvement on the CD, (which I've played several times this week) to my ears at least. My copy has passed the 'Plantation Bag' test, thankfully. Still two tracks to listen to though, so...fingers remain crossed. The pricing is steep over here but if it means shops like Honest Jon's survive then I'll make that choice. Lovely to purchase this over a counter in a real shop; it's been too long.
  9. Good to be back in a record shop today and unexpectedly find the Bang/Tyler
  10. Kidd Jordan Boy George Cheryl Ladd
  11. H.R.H. The Queen (divinely saved) Barbara Windsor Queen Vic
  12. Charles Mingus- Presents [Candid, 1985 RP] I paid £3.99, money well spent at Ray's Jazz by the looks of the price tag
  13. Thanks, that's good to hear that your impressions are positive (despite the source). Mine is a paperback edition but hopefully the quality control will be maintained. I'm looking forward to its arrival along with the two Cherry albums they're releasing.
  14. My introduction to Ms Gordon, after listening to Mingus's 'Moves' earlier. Nice band on this too
  15. I have that on pre-order, published in a couple of weeks here. how is it?
  16. prompted by the current discussion on another thread beats working, that's for sure
  17. Anita Ward Belle & Sebastian Charles Ryder
  18. Alan Licht Matchbox, the band The Flaming Groovies
  19. Humpty Dumpty Joe Egg Yoko Ono
  20. via Haino, this is becoming the alternative "Name three people" thread Really enjoying this one, thanks or posting
  21. Mint copy on Discogs for $19. It's hardly a rarity
