  1. Which others of his? I know the Ancestors
  2. This is my first listen and I'm also very impressed. I thought 'Your Queen Is A Reptile' was a very strong statement of the then current "scene" but if I had a criticism I found a bit one-paced. This new one has a few more shades to it, it's still based on a dominant rhythmic foundation which if you don't get on with will be an issue for enjoyment. But the rhythms are more varied, Hutchings plays some flute and the vocal contributions are all sharp and don't overstay their welcome. Interestingly, for me if no-one else, I played it straight after Roach/Shepp 'Long March' and that didn't seem too much of a leap. Very different sounds but not, if you get my drift.
  3. Bobby Moore Geoff Hurst Martin Peters
  4. Max Roach featuring Archie Shepp - The Long March [hat Hut, 1980]

  9. In the past I've offloaded Jazz/improv CDs at Ray's Jazz and Flashback Records but for not very much cash per item. Also, Reckless Records in Soho were still selling secondhand Jazz CDs pre-pandemic.
  10. Rick Rozie, Lee Rozie, Rashied Ali - Afro Algonquin [Moers Music] Bought directly from the label last week, can't have been a big seller...
  11. I like that one, a lot
  12. I'd rate that as not too far off Black Paladins, well worth checking out Maria Grand - Reciprocity [Biophilia Records] Something a bit different brought to sax/bass/drums. Interesting.
  13. I like the sound of that line-up

That ECM is a beautiful work
  15. Great profile filmed by Dorothy Darr during their pandemic isolation. Here https://boulezsaal.de/charles-lloyd-love-longing-loss I read elsewhere that it's only available for a limited time but that doesn't seem to be stated on the linked page. Someone needs to record a solo album by the maestro
  16. I don't know La Chouffe but I'm intrigued now. Looks like it might be available here too
  17. Three tracks into my first listen and he sounds in good voice. The lyrics on this small sample seem lazy. I like the vibes on track 3. Only 25 tracks to go! And, it's only vol 1...
  18. Family - Anyway Rediscovering this long buried gem after a friend sent me this. One of greatest Rock vocalists alongside a multifaceted band, rock vibes!
  19. Polly Jean Harvey The Invisible Rabbit John Bundrick
  20. Giancarlo Schiaffini - Jazz A Confronto 5 [Horo, 1973]
  21. Lol Coxhill, Andrea Centazzo, Giancarlo Schiaffini - Moot [Ictus, 1978] Surprisingly fitting Rugby League watching soundtrack
  22. Steve Lacy, Andrea Centazzo, Kent Carter - Trio Live [Ictus, 1977]
