  1. I realise I have two GTM I enjoy. This one https://www.discogs.com/Anthony-Braxton-Quartet-GTM-2006/release/1298503 And another on New Braxton House I can't see on Discogs. I tried to buy the set I attended but listening now I'm not convinced it is but memory plays tricks Edit to add: found the other https://www.discogs.com/Anthony-Braxton-Sextet-Istanbul-1996/release/1203212
  2. I saw Zim at Café Oto and it was an amazing evening's music. I had also been completely underwhelmed by most GTM (making an exception for one sextet recording I enjoy). I bought one of the sets on this new collection and I'm still to really connect with it. I can see myself streaming more of the sets, definitely.
  3. That's a great album
  4. Yes, I tempted by that too
  5. Fiendish laugh, fear not, happy with my original
  6. Fiendish indeed but realises in Devon at the moment, places online order
  7. l had the same issue about 6 months ago and bought a Pro-ject Debut Carbon Esprit because I wanted 45/33 switch. Very pleased with it but it's belt drive. It was my first attempt to spend more money on kit than music!
  8. Race you there (adopts villainous disguise)
  9. Foden to complete his Gazza impersonation
  10. That's them Downs for you
  11. Thanks again. I think I can imagine what it might sound like, good.
  12. Thanks. I see it's no longer cheap. I'm tempted
  13. That looks intriguing. That also doesn't look like PB in the middle of the other two, who is it?
  14. Yes, reports are he's awake and stabilised, thankfully Also glad I wasn't watching it but wasn't walking a dog Earlier, Wales have their goalkeeper to thank for keeping the better Swiss team at bay for a draw
  15. I'm no Marc Myers but I am a Mark and will happily say " "Percy France was a fine tenorist who didn't get the attention he deserved. Check out this site that tries to correct that." I know absolutely nothing about PF but just a cursory first glance has really piqued my interest. A work of passion, very evidently, duly rewarded by a very nice presentation.
  16. England need a couple of Tierneys, at least. We look very promising if you ignore the gaping holes at centre back. I thought Italy looked efficient and not as good as the BBC coverage hyped them. I'm looking forward to England v. Scotland and Foden completing his Gascoigne impersonation
  17. Here we go again... it's coming home! 😀
  18. Monday Michiru Wednesday Addams Man Friday

  20. Mistress Fuckup Mariela Frostrup Gordon Giltrap
  21. Sorry to hear how you were dealt with John. It happened to me out if the blue three years ago but I was a bit too young to be able to turn redundancy into retirement. Do give yourself some time to absorb the shock whilst sorting out the practicalities. Given how you describe your situation there seems no rush to find your next path. Here's wishing you a long and fruitful 'retirement', whatever that looks like.

  24. Don Rendell/Ian Carr Quintet - Blue Beginnings [Jazz In Britain, 2021] Another decent release from Jazz In Britain
  25. Indeed. The Fo'tet albums are all worth it, I think
