  4. christmas music, especially jazz, recorded in july mostly doesnt cut it. are there live jazz albums recorded during the holidays? i am guessing those might be an artistic success, but a commercial failure. of course, presentday recorded jazz is by default a commercial failure anyway.anyway.

  22. he was a beast of a man. the director of the cleveland jazz orchestra tells me they were rehearsing with clare in a cheaply rented room in a bad section of cleveland and some scoundrels were either messing with cars or trying to break in to the room. apparently the large aroused beastly fischer scared them half to death and they quickly dispersed. his 'thesaurus' album, bought when it was new, and many pacific jazz albums are among my treasures.
