  8. for many years, the schwann catalogue was essential reading/ browsing. listening to this bach today, i recall the seemingly endless bach listings in the schwann. i havent seen one for years. is there a near equivalent around today, especially those magnificent classical listings?
  9. i know very well of chihuahua love, and am considering adopting another. happy birthday, minga!
  10. i listened to my vinyl of 'far out folks' last evening, unaware of this thread. as far as i am concerned, it is wonderful, thoughtful, intelligent, and very interesting music, which has held up for 50 years remarkably well. fred must have been doing many of the arrangements of chico hamilton's chamber jazz(which i treasure) of that period.
  11. in full flight, damn you could swing like hardly anyone else, if any, and, oh, how you could caress those ballads! you have left a magnificent legacy, oscar way back in the 50's, a station in louisville (whas) played a whole peterson album just before midnight, which is precisely when my long impassioned love affair with jazz began.
  12. azimuth with ralph towner
  13. ms. goodspeak is lying here on the warm air vent, chilling out to franck's magnificent 'piece heroique.' she really digs the classical stuff!
