  1. actually, I spotted a real interesting part of the outer line just left of the middle. BTW, Ronaldo's handling of the ball should have led to a PK of course. The ref FIRST puts the brazilians into the PK area, THEN he blows on handling by Ronaldo, ERGO: pienantie!
  2. I watched two seconds, couldn't switch channels fast enough... Is the man going senile or what?? I wanted to change channels, but I had just bitten a chunk out of the remote...
  3. and just when they were showing some stills from the fight after the Arg-Ger game yesterday. Sheee-itt! That Cufre fegher really kicked Mertesacker in the groin and kicked hard! German television found no video proof of ANY provocation of any kind from the side of Mertesacker. Apparantly what happened was that the Argentinians were making not so nice gestures towards the German kickers stepping up to the dot (edit: Cruz held "the finger" on his lips). Borowski, upon returning from his successful kick, made some return gesture to tell the feghers to shut up and cut the crap. His version is that he made a "calm down" gesture (edit he mimicked "talk talk talk" with his fingers snapping on his thumb); I haven't heard the Argentinian version, but these guys are insane. They should have tested these overheated blokes on cocaine or extreme doses of caffeine.
  4. RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pele is SINGING A SONG on the telly now!!!! RUN! HIDE! BITE!
  5. I was praying for a big hole to open in front of the PK mark, but it didn't happen somehow.
  6. Eusebio is low profile here, but Pele should be left off the screen for his own good. The guy obviously isn't wearing any clothes and every time he opens his mouth and presents one of his no-content open-door comments to the world, I could bite another piece out of some furniture. Do you have any furniture left? well, I could bite away at the furniture, but in the end I usually decide to down another beer, hum real loud and roll my eyes.

  8. besides the well deserved red for Rooney, the Portugese have been playing to provoke cards again. Did you guys catch that bloke running up the left side, grasping his face? Yes, another one trying to pull a "Figo" on us. And please someone dig a deep hole and stick that little pisser Ronaldo in it. I really really hope Portugal do not make it to the final and win. Then, in 20 years from now, we will have to watch that Little Pisser sitting where Maradona was seated now, getting all excited and looking like a girlie boy who dropped his icecream all the time. Sheesh!
  9. I don't understand why Couw feels the need to defend this guy. He cheated another board member. To me, that calls for virtual banishment in itself, not to mention all the other offensive tactics. I'd be livid if I got cheated by a board member; and would remind others of this fact. Trust is everything on this board, and I buy and sell a lot of stuff here. I don't understand why you feel a need to jump on this guy if the tiniest opportunity shows. It is not as if a single blown deal and subsequent crap slinging between TWO (yes TWO) shady folks should taint either ad infinitum. Let it blow man. Relax.
  10. heheheh. Remember these guys are real stars of the theatre stage. If you hit someone, it has to look good and not just hurt.
  11. so, WTF was going on? The story is that the Argentinian players had been calling names on the German penalty kickers. Borowsky told them to shut the fuck up after he placed his goal. After the thing was over, Leandro Cufre mistook Mertesacker for Borowsky and kicked him in the eggs. He got a red card for that. (This ref was quite on top of things BTW.) This led to more unrest and those who tried to calm the situation were attacked as well. To top things off, Rodriguez had to relieve his frustrations and hit Schweinsteiger in the face. WTflyingF?!!
  12. much beer still to be had in the eastern states (except for Berlin and Leipsch).
  13. I agreed completely. And I don't agreed with COUW about his analyse of the Argentinian team. well, I think we DO agree. So there!
  14. WTF was all that shite after the game you ask? Obviously an Argentinian player kicked a German full force in the shins and some tried to interfere. It all exploded some and I just watched a replay of Podolski getting hit in the face by some nut job running many metres just for that occasion. and another WTF is that the Argentian trainer has just resigned, ja
  15. agreed, but if it doesn't gel once the opponent gets stronger...
  16. and the best part about this game: NO DIEGO!!! Obviously he tried to bring a friend with him into the stadium, but the officials wanted to see a ticket, which the friend could not produce. So Diego decided to stay outside as well. Lucky us! I can just imagine the theatre he pulled off there at the gate...
  17. the problem is that since the Netherland game it has been obviously clear how to play these Argentinians. The Mexicans did it right and so did the Germans. There is little to no alternative once their combination play is interrupted by close defense. Their game may have looked impressive, but it was never really fast. Their defense looked like a sieve on several occasions when the Germans had a few minutes without feghing up their passes. Odonkor and Borowsky really pulled the game wide, further weakening the Argentinian defense. It is difficult to play your wings against them, but IF you manage, it all falls apart.
  18. I agree. The quality of football was increasingly disappointing on both sides. The luckiest team won. both played the only tactic that worked against the respective oponent: attack early and do not let them get to build up their own game. Both teams were very nervous, which resulted in a lot of failed passes on both sides. Towards the end of the second extra time, both were hoping for luck on long balls. Not very attractive indeed. This should probably have been the final, not a quarter final. Both teams seemed to have sensed as much.
  19. what a goal by Klose. Perfect combination!
  20. so now Ullrich, Basso and Sevilla are out of Le Tour! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/other_spor...ing/5132320.stm
  21. You can also use a digital camera. Either build a set up that allows you to take pics from above under a right angel without reflections, or take your pics using flashlight, with the camera under an angle to prevent reflections. You will need photo editing software to straighten the picture. If you're good with the software, you can of course also use a regular scanner and paste several scans together.
  22. Barney as in Barney, but with that special Inspecteur Clouseau accente. so that's not Bah'nee with two long 'merican syllables, but Bar'ny with two short french syllables. Wilen like Wee-Len, as in "wheel" but short. I have also heard Will-en with "will" as in "willing" and "-en" as in "spoken". The former would be correct though. René as Ruh-Nay with a short stressless first syllable "Ruh", as in "Huh? WTF?!", rhymes with "the". Urtreger starts off with that french "u", equals the german "ü"; there is no equivalent sound in English I believe. The second syllable is stressless, "truh" (Huh? see above), the "g" as "zh", like the second "g" in "garage" or the "s" in "pleasure"; the "-er" ending as "-ay", rhymes with stay. So you end up with Ür-truh-zhay
