Was Virenque ever tested positive?

the report can be found online here From what I gather after a quick glance is that the authors were unable to confirm whether proper procedures have been followed with respect to the testing of the 1999 samples. That's a wide open door of course as WADA and its laboratory have always stated that there are no second samples anymore, the samples are old, some already opened and whatever else. Theirs was set out to be a test of methodologies carried out furthermore to get an idea of how wide-spread the use of EPO may have been. The report once more states that UCI and only UCI is authorised to judge and discipline when it comes to doping and doping tests. There is quite some polemics in the report which make it pretty obvious that UCI paid for this independent investigation; WADA and the French Ministry likely see UCI as an emperor without clothes when it comes to clean sports, which may be why they did not cooperate to this investigation. In the end there is lots of blahblah on formalities and very little on the science; this is not about truth or other redeeming motives, but much more about Power and probably lots of Money.

LF Golden Boy artwork (Art Blakey's Colpix LP)

JimR just sent me the pic (thanks Jim), quote: "this is not the greatest image... " I could make it smaller than the maximum 100KB, so here it is. A better quality pic is welcome! -
can't find anything on Hudalla either. Schulze was born in 1934 AFAIK.

I have been listening with half an ear only, but there is some stunningly beautiful stuff on this disk! and... hmmm... Zappa... !
-
of course not!

that's the one Claude is looking for!

gave it a first spin this afternoon and first impression is that I lurv the first part with all the whack stuff, had a bit of an attention dip half way through when it went and became a bit more pedestrian, but was wide awake towards the end again. Nothing I recognised as part of my collection, so this will be good edumacation!

also: Manfred Schulze, who played with the Ulrich Gumpert and Hannes Zerbe bands and played on some FMP releases, also under his own name. He was responsible for the "Manfred" part of the Manfred-Ludwig Sextett with Ernst-Ludwig Petrowsky. No recordings exist of this version of the Sextett, however. The only available music by the Sextett has on baritone... Wolf Hudalla, who probably has the coolest name of them all and who started out in the band of Heinz Hänsch, later to join the Eberhard Weise band, together with E-L. Petrowsky. His recorded work is available on one singel CD... Both players stem from the former GDR.

the best thing would be if all of us would start bothering the guy about his posts and try and pry and push him to post some true shit like death wishes and voodoo crappe and some more of that. So we can all look like adults and Aric can look like a fool once more. then again, maybe not... ??

thanks Lon, I should drink more in order to sharpen my logic abilities I guess... :rsly:

Not that I mind some good ole tangents, but what is the connection between Jane Fielding and Marilyn Moore?
-
my thoughts also, but mighty long antennae!

it seems there have been plenty Japanese reissues of this (and comparable albums). Every new swoop from Japan had them. So how come no one reissues this "domestically"? (And indeed tag on some of those unreleased sessions.)

I have been listening to the above depicted album and I like it. Jane has a rather pleasant husky voice and lingers some behind the beat. Very pleasant in its laziness, but it does get in the way here and there, like on the Shorty Rogers original Summer Day. I rather like the sparse instrumentation here, voice, piano and bass. Same as on Beverly Kenney's Sings For Playboys from a few years later. Fielding is certainly not the bestest singer ever heard and the album suffers some from doubtful tune choices and colourless programming, but ey... the Claxton cover makes up for plenty!

I wasn't there, but some Dutch friends of mine were going great googley moogley about it as well.

it's scary and you are never prepared when you drive into it and tune in to listen to the local weather and traffic announcements.
-
it's also on the CD version of the Heavyweight box. At about 5:36 in, there is some tape stretching, as if someone is holding the tape for a split second.

you don't want to weigh ONE of each as you want to know the mean or median weight of all your pre- and post- and during-oil crisis vinyl pressings and your varying thickness CD booklets. Also, older jewelcases are about double the weight of more recent ones. What about digipacs? Maybe David Ayers can get up from his chair and place some on his kitchen scales, while MikeWeil goes looking for his bathroom scales, wherever he hid those... BTW, one CD cum jewelcase really does weigh about 100 grams, give or take 10 grams and a CD cum slimcase really does weigh about 50 grams. A single LP on average really does weigh 200-300 grams, depending on vinyl thickness and cardboard stock. I didn't make that shite up!

LASER technology now available! Powerful laserlight is the effect you have waited for! LEDs in guitars and basses are to underline the player´s personality and style. at last the end to endless fruitless practice sessions is here.. forget the strings! forget the frustrating licks and runs you can never master anyway! let the light do the work for you! music doesn't impress the girls, it's the ROCK STAR-IMAGE you have on stage that does it!! finally here is your chance to cover-up your fake musicianship and let the girls know you're actually an electrician by nature! Two-colour layout with matching body LEDs ("runway design") makes your instrument look longer and more impressing (side dots with dimmer). finally get all the girls with these lights ~ this is the answer to the miserable days of being unable to catch the hearts of the members of the opposite camp by trying to play quasi-romantic melodies!!! the dimmer knob can be reached while playing. super-utility guitar! makes those lumberjack-women recognize your DIMMING SKILLS at once!! back-stage after-show satisfaction guaranteed! the player is never blinded! so you can reach down your pants while playing! http://www.led-guitars.com/41026.html
