  1. from couw & maren, with love!
  2. me too. or at least one that doesn't take ages to ship... titles are confusing too. there's astigmatic, astigmatic in concert, astigmatic vo. 5.... etc.
  3. 1.Prez 2.Prez and Ben Webster on The Sound of Jazz. 2. Ben Webster on 2 cuts of Belafonte Sings the Blues. Actually I'm not sure of that and don't have a copy of the record but as I remember it Ben Webster and Roy Eldridge play on 2 cuts. But maybe it's just another of those acid flashbacks. he plays on this? can anyone confirm? my connection went via Junior Mance - Clifford Brown - Maynard Ferguson
  4. I think that list looks fine and dandy, fine and dandy...
  5. damn, does that affect my post count?
  6. Hannes Zerbe - Blech Band (Amiga, 1984) until I transferred it to CDr recently.

  10. ...oh and DODO MARMOROSA of course.
  11. Max Peuk as Dutch poet, Parker fanatic, and record collector Jules Deelder calls him. Peuk means cigarette butt. In a marvellous passage about picking up a vinyl copy of the Quintet at Massey hall, he writes: "...and yes, 'Jazz at Massey Hall,' with Charlie Yardbird O'Rooni, Diz The Wiz, Bud Powell, 'Fingus' Mingus, and Max Peuk. Wherever you are, you put it on, that record, and suddenly he is there, in the room with you. Who? My Sister Nola with her she-goat legs! Okay...?
  12. THAT was already very funny Lon!
  13. I tried that, it didn't work. The www.organissimo.net site could not be reached either.
  14. was there a server black out just now? I couldn't enter the board for some hours.
  15. after the discussion thread, there are no surprises left here. I'll see if I can find some time to sit down with your test and the handy list of answers again soon. thanks again for including that Carter/Bradford track. I ordered the CD and I'm enjoying it a lot. and I see AMG mentions Joe Bonner to be influenced by Tyner; my guess wasn't as bad as it looked then...
  16. does it have to be Satchmo we start with? otherwise: Lester Young to Harry Belafonte in 5 steps
  17. 1. Satchmo 2. Benny Goodman (1947 all star recording) 3. Henry Grimes 4. Cecil Taylor
  18. didn't James Spaulding play flute on that Louis Armstrong & His Friends album? ergo: from 1. Satchmo to 2. Spaulding to 3. Sun Ra
  19. zweitausendeins.de has this one and may other recent WB releases for 7.50 EUR check the list
