  2. The Big 10 might relax it's rules and allow Penn St. players to transfer within the conference without having to sit out a year and lose a season of eligibility. If that happens you know there is going to be more of an exodus than would be expected. http://espn.go.com/blog/bigten/post/_/id/53716/free-transfers-within-b1g-possible-for-lions
  3. Yeah, the NCAA vacates wins all the time. They vacated 12 from Bobby Bowden for example, which allowed Paterno to pass him. John Calipari has had two final four teams whose entire seasons were vacated. Paterno now drops to 5th and 12th for Division 1 FBS and all the Divisions combined.
  4. In the end, Paterno's legacy was to destroy Penn St. as a football powerhouse. They might never be relevant again. It is going to be close to impossible to recover from losing 80 scholarships over 4-years on top of a 4-year bowl ban. They really were better off with the “Death Penalty”. The NCAA still might punish them even more once all the criminal trials are over. At least the NCAA is allowing all the players to transfer without having to sit out a year. They are also considering allowing the teams that take them to go over their scholarship limits.
  5. He would have been looking at perjury, child endangerment and conspiracy at the very least. It sound like the NCAA is going to lower the hammer in a way that the Death Penalty might have been preferable. Of course, they're disregarding their own procedure to do it. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8188629/ncaa-levy-unprecedented-sanctions-penn-state-nittany-lions

  10. I completely missed this update. Thank you!
  11. I had seen this. Get the golden parachute package in place before it gets really ugly. Should be interesting to see how much the estate has left after the civil cases....especially with him being the reason there was a cover-up after 2001. You know everyone alive and facing criminal charges are going to dump even more on him. Personally, I think schools with a high incidence of heroin abuse should be called IV League. I stand corrected. It may or may not have had something to do with sports. When the legend becomes fact, print the legend. P.S. I still say they're not normally called Division 4 or if you want Division IV schools. haha
  12. I have both those sets. It would have been nice if all the Henderson stuff was in one package...especially since it was his band. I have to agree with mikeweil. It will be interesting to see what trumped a Fletcher Henderson set. Thank you for taking time to respond.
  13. "Saint" Paterno in action. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/14/sports/ncaafootball/joe-paterno-got-richer-contract-amid-jerry-sandusky-inquiry.html?pagewanted=all
  14. I will give you points for that. Never heard it called Division 4 before.....and I have had and have family members who have gone, or are currently. Where did you think the term "Ivy" came from??????? Can we all now agree that universities can be rich, well known, highly regarded and well attended (with waiting lists numbering in the thousands) without the need for a revenue generating sports program?????? 1. Not from IV or anything having to do with sports. 2. Yes, they can. They're going to hold out for as long as they can. Once all the criminal and civil cases (which could result in $50-100 million being paid.) are finished and whatever the NCAA decides....it will be interesting if there is even a building with Paterno attached to it.
  15. Where is the Mosaic love? I was listening to Study in Frustration earlier today and it crossed my mind. Sorry if this has been discussed before.
  16. Apologizing (see above). Thank you for posting this. I will be honest. I have avoided reading your posts. It's only when Sonnymax posted his response that I went back and read what you posted previously. I saw your posts and typed out four response that probably would have resulted in my being banned. I am sure you can agree that homosexuals have to put up with enough hatred without that being added to it.

  18. Mr. Radio Dude, EVERY comment that has been made here is pertinent to the Sandusky case. Broaden your mind and maybe you'll see that. In the meantime, if you don't like what you read, move along. It's really that simple. Or, here's an idea, make a well-thought out, meaningful contribution. Better yet, make one at the PSU board. I'm sure you'll find many like-minded people there. Tiddly-Winks Team Captain Exactly, JetMan. Some people here just don't get it. Mike comes from a BBS which encourages verbal clutter and mental vagrancy. Well put, my friend. Mr. Hijacking busy at work!! That other BBS is the one at which you've been banned for life, right? And at your behest, Mike. Here, you actually have to tolerate opposing views, not insult them. I left on my own terms by waving bye-bye with my verbal knuckles knowing full well what would happen. Best decision I ever made on the Web. Now stay on topic. Translation: Here they have moderators. I can't act they way I did on a board I was banned twice before finally being banned for life. I left on my own terms by insulting amongst other things other members manhood, intelligence and sexuality. Never mind how I treated the female members. Now to on topic. Everyone knows just how much you were concerned about the victims in this case. There are two threads on two separate boards which you can't edit anything out to show just how much you cared. You cared so much about the victims....Aggie87 had to ask you this. "I hope you're quicker to report things when you find out about them than McQueary and Paterno were. For the victim's sakes." You do realize there are no Division IV schools in College? There are however Division IV schools on the High School level in different states. While I am at this...go back and read Mike Schwartz's posts. He made it very clear he wants the "Death Penalty" for Penn St's football program.

  21. Penn State has classes? haha
  22. Faulty arguments I think on many fronts. Sorry, the shoe falls on Penn State. Many of the players would play elswewhere....those that don't I do not care. The Montana case is precisely why actions be taken now while the iron's hot and attention is focused. Future possible cases do not matter. Sandusky, under his broad Penn State and surrounding community umbrella, is more than enough to get the ball rolling Sorry I wasn't clear enough. I was responding to your comments about those who say it hurts current players. I was just saying how would it be any different than with USC or Ohio St. The NCAA has bylaws and none of them cover anything like this. They even have rules about transfers if a team does get penalized. They just can't invent rules and expect it to stand in court is what I am saying. They should have rules for things like this, but they're more interested in texting and sandwiches than the criminal actions of players, coaches, etc....
  23. 1. It's always other players years later when the NCAA punishes a team. The latest example is USC and Ohio St. 2. Having said that. The NCAA has 10,000 rules on things like texting and a free sandwich but not anything covering anything like this. They haven't done anything with regards to what happened with the way the University of Montana handled sexual assault claims against multiple football players....and that involved players. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/23/sports/ncaafootball/handling-of-sexual-assault-claims-brings-new-scrutiny-to-montana.html?pagewanted=all Even if they did try, I can see Penn St. taking them to court. On top of things, it's still an ongoing criminal investigation.
