  1. I have no problem with most of this....and already pointed out #2. My comment was in response to calling Wagner a leading theoretician of the Holocaust. Even Friedlander didn't think Hitler had a "master plan" at the time of Mein Kampf. The "Final Solution" didn't start until 1942 with Operation Reinhard. They had killed hundreds of thousands if not a million before.....but it was now an official "Solution" to the "Jewish Problem." The Posen Conference made it really official what was to happen to anyone who was Jewish in 1943. If it's not the music. It's the video games they're playing. If not that. It's the movies they're watching....or a combination of them.
  2. True, his book, published in 1900, did sell 100,000 copies by 1915 and was lauded by Rosenberg. Of course, Chamberlain basically picked up on all that had been said previously (re: Aryan superiority and the decadence of the Semitic race) by Gustave Klemm in the 1840's as well as French scholar Ernest Renan and Swiss philologist Adolphe Pictet back in the late 1850's. Speaking of Switzerland, did you know that HSC first heard Wagner's name during a boat trip on Lake Lucerne in 1870? Just a little fun fact. No, I didn't now that much about him. How about Arthur de Gobineau? He wasn't even an anti-Semite....and his writings had probably had a greater effect on the Nazi party than Wagner. I will ask again. Just how much music would anyone be listening to based on the musicians/composers behavior/writings/sayings?
  3. What I don't get about the deal is it's basically something they could have settled on a long time ago. While both sides finally comprised on all the main issues....I think the NFL won on being able to hire new refs and get rid of bad ones.
  4. Out of curiosity. How many are fans of Karajan? He joined the Nazi party and did the Nazi salute. Furtwängler never joined. He also never did the salute but was put on trial. Even the video with him shaking Goebbels hand at the birthday concert has him wiping his hand clean with a handkerchief right after it. Carl Orff music is played in Israel. Orff's Carmina Burana was composed in honor of the Nazi leaders. Orff agreed after Richard Strauss (someone else who isn't played often if ever in Israel and who also was a bigot.) refused to remove Mendelssohn's name from a composition. Orff had no problem with that. Chopin was an extreme bigot, but his music is still played in Israel as well and has been played by many Jewish musicians. Wagner did have an appreciation of Jewish composers such as Mendelssohn (his "Hebrides Overture") and Halévy (his opera "The Jewess"). He also had friendships with those who were Jewish such as Heinrich Porges and Hermann Levi. The later was a Rabbi's son. Wagner even had an affair with a half-Jewish French writer. As in, Judith Gautier. She was the daughter of author Theophile Gautier and the singer Giulia Grisi. He would also refuse to sign any public declarations against those who were Jewish if I am not mistaken. Wagner also worked with many who were Jewish. Wagner's PR guy was Jewish. Hermann Levi conducted Wagner's works at the time, including Wagner's most Christian of all his operas, Parsifal. Rubenstein finished the orchestration of some of his operas. On the other hand while he would conduct Mendelssohn's music....he wore gloves to not soil his hands from playing Jewish music. As in, he was a train wreck
  5. Didn't you leave out at least 10 more Scabs in that? Are they making mistakes? Of course. At this point thee rulebook is so convoluted at that regular refs don't seem to understand it on a weekly basis. Are things getting out of control with the players and coaches....yes, but that has more to do with NFL than the refs. The regular refs can pretty much call a holding call on every play if they followed the rulebook exactly. It's hilarious when people go "Scabs" for people that probably work maybe 10-15 hours a week....and I am being generous with adding in the travel....and average close to $150,000....all the while working at their real jobs during the week. Something that none of the other major leagues officials can do during a season. Even taking into account it was the owners idiotically locking them out for basically $25-40 (depending on whose story you believe) million over 7-years. Think about that and what the NFL is worth. That's less than Chris Johnson and many others idiotic contracts. These are not people who don't have other income, or are really unemployed. We're talking about people who this is a 2nd job (with all those out there that don't even have a first job.) for...and they're averaging $150,000 a year. No walk in the shoes of the "Scabs" (some of these people worked in a "lingerie league" (that alone tells you how absurd this whole thing happens to be.) and in in this economy. It's a Clusterfuck on the NFL's part....but I really don't feel sorry for the regular refs. Not with all those who are really unemployed, or really on strike. They're not coal miners and all the rest you can use legitimately use "Scabs" for. Many of them are taking advantage of the Bush II tax cuts and are hoping they continue.
  6. I think you're missing my point, or I wasn't clear enough on my main point. It's the internet after all. There are a lot of great musicians/composers that did a lot of "Bad/Evil" stuff in their time. If everyone based things on that....just how much music would most people be listening to right now? Wagner was a leading theoretician of the Holocaust? As someone who has family members who are Jewish that had members who either died, or survived....I understand why those who were in Dachau can't bear to hear his music, or anyone who is Jewish doesn't want to listen to his music. However, isn't calling Wagner a leading theoretician of the Holocaust a major stretch? Wouldn't his son-in-law Houston Stewart Chamberlain (I don't think you can make up that last name in relation to this up.) be a better choice if you're going to bring up anything Wagner related? If I am not mistaken a man if I believed in hell....should be in the worst possible place even made friends with his children. I know this is the internet and all, but I have no problem being corrected on this subject. It's still Yom Kippur in some places....I didn't mean any offense at all on this subject. If I have....I apologize.
  7. If you never heard anything played by Miles Davis. Would anyone want to listen to him if you just heard about his history with women? I heard Max Roach beat Abbey Lincoln.
  8. Wagner was a bigot. But just how much music would any of us be listening to based on what the musicians said or did?
  9. The Tuck Rule call might be the worst in the replay era with regular refs....but here you have a Playoff game before replays....which is supposed to have the best refs involved. Check 3:50 into this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CWPQoFwVkrk Does anyone remember a year that there wasn't a major blown call or people not complaining about the regular refs?
  10. Anyone remember this one? http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-films-sound-efx/0ap1000000066448/Sound-FX-Special-teams-guru?continuous=true Does anyone really know what constitutes a catch after that one?
  11. The funny thing about this whole replacement ref thing is people act like the regular refs didn't constantly blow calls. They're nowhere as bad as NBA refs...but still. The NFL is using league supervisors for each of these games. Something they only normally do in the postseason. Neither the league supervisors or replay official are replacements. You know who was the league supervisor for this game? Someone who was involved in two infamous blown calls by a ref....and both of them in the same year. There is no video of the game between the Jets and Seahawks in 1998, which in that game the Seahawks were screwed. As in, I give you Phil Luckett in action. http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-videos/09000d5d80cc8200/Bettis-calls-tails

  18. I will eventually respond to the responses. In the meantime....maybe the "moderator" can explain this particular poster (who has to be the most hostile person on here. Anger Management issues don't even come close describing his problems. He comes off as completely unhinged a good deal of the time.) is even still allowed to be a member? I have been threatened with banning, had posts deleted by the "moderator"....but someone who regularly insults and/or threatens other members for who knows how many years now is somehow still around. I guess there is a rule in the famous rules that keep being mentioned to me that makes it okay for him to do it. The irony is his post describes him exactly....well except his insults/threats are on the elementary/junior high level. I have lost track of how many of posts I have come across which are like this....when he only responds in threads to insult and/or threaten other members. But let's get all over those duplicate threads! The poster has been warned. I really can't tell at this point if you're being serious or attempting humor with that response to my post....and taking into account at this point I can quote countless posts that this member would have been banned pretty much every other place....WTF? knows how many years ago....it could have been from 2003 from all I know....it just got depressing after several searches with him telling people to fuck off, assholes, or wanting them dead....but here somehow he miraculously is still a member....and best I can make out....you were "moderating" for just the time I checked. Even on "the other" board that doesn't have a "moderator"....on which I made clear there should be one (and I also said on here is a Dead BB Walking)...and it took 14-years to finally ban the "troll"....this member wouldn't have lasted. God help anyone that starts a duplicate thread....but tell people to die, assholes, little shits, fuck off....that's all good on your watch, or get's a warning. I was threatened with banning for just using another members job (which he used several times previously as part of his enabling argument.)....you the "moderator" even mocked me when I tried to explain why that one subject bothered me....I also had a post deleted that had 11-14+-years of post on two boards to support. I can't even imagine what you would have done if I posted a single one of those posts this member posted that I can quote on your watch. You want to tell me about this board's rules again? But let's get all over those duplicate threads! I was quite serious; that poster has been warned, by me. But it's nice (irony alert now) that you have been conducting such thorough research into the past behavior of posters whose behavior annoys you ("...at this point I can quote countless posts that [would have led to] this member being banned pretty much every other place"...). And I'm the wannabe policeman here? P.S. You were threatened with being banned because you were behaving like a troll -- saying things that seemed IMO (and I'm not only no novice in this aspect of internet behavior, but this also was not solely my opinion in this instance) to be said not so much to make a point in an admittedly contentious discussion but essentially to provoke that particular poster (i.e. the school teacher), whom you had made clear you had gripe against from your dustups with him on another board. The trollish aspect of this would be, in case you don't already know, that if trolls can provoke someone into a bit of sufficiently angry/bad behavior, the provoked one may get punished and the troll, pleading innocence, can skate free. But onward and upward with your research. In one single thread I used the employment of someone who continuously brought it up as part of his argument (and you did what you did in secret (just for the record....considering this member who insults/threatens other members is somehow still around....the whole secret pm threats/warnings or whatever you want to call what you do as "moderator" doesn't work.) by pm and you then mocked me by pm when I tried to explain it to you)......but I was acting like a troll for stating the obvious question in response to this members posts (and you will notice I am not mentioning this members handle in this...even though I am sure many if not everyone knows who it involves.)....no warning before it...just threatening me with banning was your instant response.) Someone I have never interacted with (or even noticed since I generally don't bother with the political/sports/whanot related threads on here.) in anyway enters a thread to just call me a "little shit"...and I check this member posts and I can't figure out how he's even still a member...and that I guess also makes me a troll....and WTF? know how many times he insulted/threatened other members with you as the "moderator". I have never insulted anyone on this board. I have never threatened anyone on this board. I also made it very clear several times there is a amazing amount of knowledgeable people and knowledge on this board. I guess I was trolling by saying that as well? I even said the owner(s) of this site had to be "Saints" for putting up with all the shit that goes on here that had to hurt them financially. In the meantime...on your watch this particular member has insulted/threatened countless members....and he's somehow still here. Just how many times has he been "warned" by you in just the time period I checked? He's still here....WTF? how many times from the time he's been a member. He's still here. Once again....just WTF? would have you done if I posted more than three (and I am being generous with you on the three) of his posts that I can quote on your watch? Here you have a member that wouldn't have lasted even on JC (the place that is considered the hostile board on here.)....but he's still here and under your watch and "warnings". How about this board's rules and duplicate threads again? P.S. I guess I was being a troll for the reason I finally started posting on here in the first place?

  21. Has anyone seen the video? Only Dylan can make himself out to look like a Bob Dylan impersonator while walking in Hollywood.
  22. Loved those. It's a shame he stopped.
  23. There is a reason he called it Love & Theft. He's been "borrowing" from forever. He's even "borrowed" for album covers. As in, Modern Times....and the music/lyrics involved have a great deal of "borrowing" in general. I really liked this one. His voice is more shredded than ever....but he somehow makes it work for him.
