  1. To give you the idea the kind of editing ESPN has been doing to that one previous passage I posted above. This is how it now looks. A group of people connected to Tuiasosopo showed up at the team hotel, after curfew, for the Discover BCS National Championship Game in Miami. Te'o said he knew they were at the hotel because the group took photos in the hotel lobby. Someone in the group called Te'o, saying they were waiting for Kekua to join them in the lobby and asking if she was with him. Te'o then hung up. Te'o said it did not affect his play in the game, where Notre Dame lost to Alabama 42-14. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8859077/manti-teo-notre-dame-fighting-irish-denies-being-part-hoax-late-girlfriend In the much longer but still edited version of the interview were Schaap is basically acting like a defense lawyer instead of a reporter. "This group. Lennay, her sister Jean supposedly, this boy named Mateo. And her friend named Kat. They said they stayed at the Hilton Beverly and they were down there for the game. Well, they got in on Saturday. Saturday, they got in on Saturday. And I told her: "OK. If you're in, come see me at the hotel, come to the hotel." I told them, "You need to be here before 11 because the curfew at that time was 11." Well, obviously, they purposely showed up after 11, when I was at curfew. And the reason I know they showed up is because they took pictures of our hotel – the front door, the lobby. I know that whoever -- I would say, "Go up. I just want to see you. Look at you square in the face and just be done with this thing. Just erase everything so I know the truth." They said, "Well, they asked me for ID cards down here, and we can't get up." Her sister texts me and says, "You know what, Manti, we're waiting for Lennay over here. Can you please tell her, I don't know if you're with her, but can you please tell her to hurry up, please. We're waiting, and Mateo is in here and he's drunk, and he said he's going to go look for her." At that point, I was like, "You know, whatever." I hung up the phone. " And JEREMY SCHAAP: How did it affect you the night you played Alabama? MANTI TE'O: I wouldn't say it affected me. JEREMY SCHAAP: I know you don't want to say it. But how could it not? MANTI TE'O: When you're stuck in big game like that, you can't let it affect you, no matter how much it's weighing on you. In a big game like that, there's people that depend on you to perform. And no matter what you're going through, you need to perform. So in that case, I can… http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8859544/highlights-manti-teo-interview-jeremy-schaap
  2. Just want to make clear it's not my theory. It's basically the conspiracy theory of the way out there ND fans. Also want to point out this part has been edited a few times since the original version. Te'o said it affected his play in the game, where Notre Dame lost to Alabama 42-14. Early this morning my time: it was Tuiasosopo showed up with friends and the alleged hoax girl. No mention of a curfew and definitely no mention of a phone call. A couple hours later it was he showed up with family members of his and no mention of the girl and still no mention of curfew or a phone call. Now this latest version. It never crossed his mind to go visit the "love of his life" while she was in a coma, or later dying from leukemia. You really can't make that up. Even though ND hired a private investigator to look into and supposedly informed them and him it was a hoax on Jan 4th....he didn't really believe it was a hoax until two days ago before the interview. It's like he wants people to believe he's Forrest Gump. After all the times he has been on tv talking about here....it's hard taking it serious having to depend on a someone like Schapp. They're even editing things to make him look better. You have to remember ESPN is one of the many outlets who never botherd to do do even the most basic fact checking. That's why they used the Larry King of ESPN to interview him. None of the facts were really discussed. For example, he claims he never said he touched her hand. No, that was his father. P.S. What he calls "tailored" everyone else would call lying.
  3. More interestingly is he was a lifelong USC fan. He was originally going to go to USC, but changed his mind at the last minute to Notre Dame. This brings up the biggest conspiracy theories out there. That Lane Kiffin and the Tuiasosopo family are behind it. With all the family history @ USC of the Tuiasosopos and Kiffin coaching Fred Matua (Ronaiah's cousin who really did die in August/2012) while Co-OC for Carrol, and later coaching Marques Tuiasosopo @ Oakland. One of the pictures used for the hoax sister to the hoax girlfriend was a picture of Fred Matua's girlfriend and mother of his daughter.
  4. You're welcome. This story seems to get stranger by the day. Now his family, or friends is trying to pass off a new "hoax". Of course, they don't explain why he continued to talk about her like she was dead after this new attempt of another "hoax". http://www.staradvertiser.com/news/breaking/20130118_EXCLUSIVE_Woman_tried_new_hoax_in_December_call_to_Teo.html?id=187505701
  5. For anyone that doesn't know about Lizzy Seeburg. Here is the most detailed report. There was also another woman and football players. http://ncronline.org/news/accountability/reported-sexual-assault-notre-dame-campus-leaves-more-questions-answers
  6. He talked about "her" during the Heisman presentation with Chris Fowler. http://www.awfulanno...esentation.html
  7. Like I said....too much documented reports for him to claim it was Catfishing. Take for example this. He said he found out on Dec 6th., which happened to be 2 days before the Heisman presentation. Here is talking about her on Dec 8th and 9th. http://www.buzzfeed....as-a-hoax-he-sp I didn't watch the presentation. Did he mention "her" when the have the interviews with each nominee before the presentation? The reason he finally told Notre Dame in my opinion is because around that time a lot of rumors and twitters were being posted about it. Even then on Jan 3rd (I was wrong about it being the the day of NC) he was still talking about "her". He's going to have to talk to the teams. By then you can be sure they will all have investigated it themselves. Some of these are funny and some hilarous . http://teoing.tumblr.com/
  8. Just when you thought it couldn't stranger. ESPN is reporting Reagan Mauia says she's not only real, but he met her and they were close. In response to that....after being dormant since Nov. 6th. A new post on the alleged non-existent girlfriends twitter account. "It isn't fair to drag Reagan and Troy into this.. a lot of truths and myths need to be addressed here, and they will be at noon PST tomorrow.
  9. I would suggest everyone read the entire deadspin report, which alocispepraluger102 provided a link too. It really is hard to believe he wasn't involved. If there was not so much documented reporting about him and "her"....I would just think it was another instance of catfishing. 1. In this instance it was first reported they met after a Stanford game and if not mistaken held hands. 2. His father was reported as saying that when he would come visit in Hawaiʻi...she was around and they would hook up. 3. Somewhere in the timeline it's reported she not only went to Stanford but she graduated from Stanford. Who but him or someone close to him would be able to report that? 4. He loves her so much he's dedicated games and the season to her, but never visits her once in a Hospital after the "car accident" and then later diagnosed with "Leukemia". At the very least; isn't it odd that his parents didn't visit at anytime in the when she was "dying"? 5. They talk all the time, which would mean the alleged hoaxer (who allegedly is one of the members of the Tuiasosopo football family....also appears to be a friend of Te'o. At the very least they interacted on Twitter.) was able to pass as a woman on the phone and have a two separate phone with two different area codes, or he had a woman talk to Te'o every night for hours. I can understand the latter if they were trying to get money out of him in some way. Why else would a woman get involved in this 6. His father first said he spoke to her. I believe now it's he texted her only. Now Te'o is saying he never met her in person. They met online. I am not sure if he's also saying he never spoke to her. Just how does someone fall that much in love with someone they never met? We're not talking about someone who would have had problems getting a real world girlfriend in South Bend or Hawaiʻi. You would think somewhere on all this his parents would have their relationship was strange. Why hasn't he reported this to the authorities? Even the day of the Championship game he was still supposedly talking about her. When he was supposed to have told Notre Dame on Dec. 26th about the whole hoax. Isn't strange that no reporter even bothered to even try to interview "her" family after she "died"?
  10. What really made it work so well this year is his average knucleball was around 77mph, which is around 9mph more than the average knucleball.
  11. Exactly. I won't post a link since it won't work but another place I used to keep track is the Downtown Music Gallery.
  12. I can't even post how the edit looks to me. haha
  13. <p>Believe me; I didn't just suddenly forget how to post a link. This is the only place I am having a problem and only since the change. I posted several links on here before the change with no problem. To give you of what I see when I just click edit of my above post.<p><p&gt is before the believe me; ' is between the didn & the "'t" is between link and "This is" is between change. & "I posted"and it ends with a which also starts it.And if I edit anything no matter the spacing it looks like one huge block.
  14. I realize you have never been big on details. You said he pitched a few games went on IR and not DL and that he never pitched again. He did pitch again. In fact he pitched four more times in 2009 and was 2-2 http://www.baseball-...a01.shtml Then he never pitched again. As in, you were not accurate.
  15. It's only a refund if you take into account they're paying a 42.5% luxury tax this year. It will be around 50% next year. 17.5% if it's under $189 in 2014 going into 2015.
  16. Not sure what it is, but I can't seem to post any link on here since the change over to the new software....which I think was a step backwards. Yes, that's the link. Thank you.
  17. Does only his ERA count?
  18. A site I use to keep track of the more interesting new releases. http://freejazz-stef.blogspot.com/
  19. Good point. But, after starting a few games for the [hated] Dodgers, he went on the IR list and never pitched again. That isn't accurate.
  20. Don't you mean trading away your "best" pitcher who had one good year in his entire career and just turned 38 from a team that has no chance of going anywhere in the two years the Blue Jays signed him too? Has your friend been paying attention to just how much money the owners of the Mets have lost as a result of the whole Bernie Madoff thing? Just this year they agreed to pay $162 million on top of all the other money the lost. Even if they had both Reyes and Dickey they were not going anywhere anytime soon. Never mind in the next two years. Mets fans aren't responsible for the Mets owners' financial wheeling and dealing with Madoff. If they can't afford to put a decent team on the field when they're located in a large population/big market area, they should sell the team. Mets fans deserve better. They're the ones who are buying the tickets and paying for cable TV. Are they supposed to feel sorry for the owners? Wilpon and company made their deals with Madoff. No one forced them to be greedy. And, regardless of his age and career record, Dickey was still the Mets' best pitcher - not their "best" pitcher. He had a career year and that won him the Cy Young and the only thing that kept them from being last in their division was the fire sale Marlins and the disaster that was Ozzie Guillen. Even if he somehow just repeated this season over the next two years. They're not going anywhere in that division with the team they had. Even with him it was a contest between which could be worse the Mets or Marlins.

  22. <p> I don't know what your link was to ... but here's another source: http://hardballtalk....t-can-add-more/ Furthermore, 36 million over 6 years adds ... presumably six million to their 2013 payroll. And, posting fees are not calculated for luxury tax purposes. I don't really care about the logic of these salaries, I only know that the team has the revenue to support them. I think its the teams like the Astros and Marlins, who can put an absolute piece of shit product on the field and laugh all the way to the bank where they count all the millions they've made from TV rights and revenue sharing. Reality is that we might as well start getting used to even more ludicrous baseball contracts. The game is awash in money and that money is going to chase the biggest free agents. Unless you're an owner who only wants to bank the money yourself. Not sure why you can't see it but here it is again. Who knows how much it adds to next year's salary. It could be front loaded as well.http://www.mikescios...gicillness.com/Taking out the posting fee it's $237.86. With the luxary tax and without knowing exactly what is being added it's now $279.48.
  23. Just what is the CBA minimum payroll right now? I know after yet another fire sale by the Marlins after they screwed Dade-County without lube for $2.3 billion for a new stadium....it's around the same amount.
  24. Before today's signing it was $263.59. The only way it's less than the $348.87 is does the deferred money and posting money count for the luxury tax? http://www.mikesciosciastragicillness.com/Outside of Adrian Gonzalez would you really want anyone else they acquired in the last year for the money they're going to have to pay them?Kershaw is already better than Greinke ever was....what is he going to cost if Greinke is worth $147 million over 6-years?
  25. I really feel sorry for the part of the family who are Dodgers' fans. Next year's salary will be $340.87 million when you add in the luxury tax. That's without adding in today's signing of Ryu Hyun-jin for $36 million on top of the $25.7 signing post to his team in South Korea. And they still might not be finished. The only one of the new players worth his contract at the moment is Adrian Gonzalez. It's like they're overcompensating so much for the whole parking lot guy that it's like Steinbrenner on crack during the gory years. WTF? are they going to have to pay Clayton Kershaw after the monopoly money they're throwing around?
